I first visited the OSC on a class trip not long after it opened in 1969. One of my favorite exhibits was the speech synthesizer that could only say one word: COFFEE. But oh, it could pronounce coffee so many different ways by twisting several knobs! The chemical laser that could burn holes in bricks was cool too!

Despite going to the OSC about once a month as a kid since my parents bought a season pass, I never did volunteer for the electricity show because I was afraid of what would happen if I took my hand off the globe by mistake : )

Now that's MY science centre right there. Can't say I think much of the current Weston Family owned version.

Does anybody remember the white astronaut Rocket capsule at the OSC that you could get in and there was this super old video game inside with vector graphics where you had to land a rocket capsule on the moon, it wasn't easy to do either. I'm not sure if it's still there or not, this was in the late 70's early 80's

@jasonjchan I remember that one, it was from the late 70's also, and they played it up till the mid eighties. There was one about the zoo too, they were played on Global TV in the 80's a lot.

I'm thinking of the one where a group of kids arrive on either skateboards or bicycles (I don't remember) and it had a split second shot of the steam engine. (Not sure if that helps)

I was thinking how that part at the end at 2:47 ruined it for me, with that static, electronic, noise-generated crap so popular these days designed specifically to sound slick and with-it...do everyone a favor and stop trying so hard.
