after careful consideration, I think you made an error on the last question. I think it would be 4e^sinx/sinx + c. As when we integrate e^1x it is true it will be e^1x. However, in this case it was e^u so we would divide by u. Please let me know if I made the error. By the way your videos is a lifesaver. Thank you!

Thanks for writing and for checking the question. I've taken a look at it and in this case, the answer really is what I wrote. Looks like what you're doing is thinking the rule for integration is that anything to a power becomes that power + 1, then divides by that new power. That IS the case for polynomials, so for example x^2, x^5, etc. But in this case it's not an 'x' that's raised to a power. We have the exponential function e. That has it's own rule which is simple and awesome. The integral of e^x dx is just e^x (+c of course). So I used that. The integral of e^u du is just e^u + c. Hope that helps! You only use that polynomial rule of integration for x^n, where n is some constant - it can also be a rational exponent and those fractions make it even more interesting :). Cheers, Mitch

Some people call this integration by inspection, so this should cover it. If you're an HL student, then you also need to learn something else, called Integration by Parts. That's different to this.
