They hate that ODLH was successful in surviving his personal tribulations that few survive and that he came on top still being The Golden Boy. Which leads me the one thing they hate the most. They hate that ODLH is one of the most loved fighters of all time. Oscar De La Hoya is the first crossover fighter. The Original PPV King. In fact, boxing experts, TV networks, and all of Vegas entertaiment machine have stated at one point or another, that Oscar De La Hoya singlehandly built the PPV model and that before Vegas was a sports town, it was an Oscar De La Hoya boxing town. ODLH was the sport in Vegas. So they hate him so much they've been pushing hate for Oscar for decades now to overshadow, unsuccessfully, the love and respect the world of boxing actually has for Oscar. Unfortunately, most of the hate comes from people wishing to be him and that today are something or someone in boxing because of ODLH. Everything Oscar De La Hoya has touched has turned to Gold. There was no Al Hamon PBC before. Al Hamon PBC started out with Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions and left as soon as he built a reputation off of Golden Boy. That's all they have to show for in boxing because Mayweather vs McGregor was not for the boxing fans. So they hate that after all the hate the push on Oscar, they've always needed him and still need him to make the most successful fights in boxing like Tank vs Ryan. Canelo vs Munguia. They hate that in all their successful events they still have to hear Oscar's name be mentioned, past and present. Stephen Espinoza was an unknown lawyer until he became Oscar De La Hoya's lawyer and then went on to become president of Showtime Sports after making a name for himself in boxing through Golden Boy. Canelo was awarded the most lucrative deal in boxing under Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions. He hates that no mater what he does, people will always associate him to Oscar. He made him a superstar. Like he did Mayweather and Pacquiao. They hate that Oscar De La Hoya had been the most influential person in boxing for the last three decades. Both as a fighter and a promoter. Bob Aurm who promoter Ali stated that Oscar De La was the most popular fighter since Ali. All these people hate success. Haters will be Haters.
