It seems, anyway, without truly knowing what's going on, that he doesn't think much of doing publicity or self promotion. It reads that he finds that all amusing (perhaps even a bit ridiculous), but does it because it's part of the job. He is consistently very dry -- but uses his charm to take the edge off. I've only just watched some interviews with him.
