I can barely listen to the ra ra music that is out in the market these days. So many superb musical artists of great integrity like him never make it into the public arena. What a great loss. There is something so mystical and mysterious about his voice, his playing and his music. It is like he was lost in a time warp and he came back to us. I can't believe we in the west have been kept from hearing his music for 40 years. The stupid record companies that were cashing his commision checks for all those year denied us all the songs we could have grown up on and it's a shame. Those companies who didn't give him his royalties off his sales in South Africa over those 40 years lost so much more money on all the music they could have recorded for him over those years if they weren't so crooked.

+Tim Janakos He had a reasonable amount of success out here in Australia also during those early years and toured a bit during that time. The portrayal in the film of his talent being unrecognised everywhere outside of SA is simply not true; he was very much appreciated as a great artist here in Oz in the 70s and is still loved.
