This is the best series. Looking forward to all future episodes. A bit of trivia on ‘Good Will Hunting’ and ‘The Silence of the Lambs’: screenwriter William Goldman (who also wrote the incredible novel and screenplay of ‘The Princess Bride’) is the one mentioned by Joyce who gave Damon and Affleck guidance on their screenplay. He also gave a CRUCIAL editing suggestion for Jonathan Demme for ‘The Silence of the Lambs’ to make that film a greater movie (the stories out there written about this instance are better than anything I could sum up here). In a way, I suppose this is kind of an interesting tie between two of the three episodes in this (again, awesome) series, with ‘SotL’ and ‘GWH’ being major players/titles in your discussions. Anyway, hooray William Goldman for making movies better, clearly! ❤️ Thanks for the great content, guys!

And just a silly note: I always thought it was hilarious that Warren Beatty pronounced James Cameron’s name in the roll of Best Director nominees as “James Camerōn.” Sean Connery’s odd double-take before reading Best Picture is also goofy.

Really wish Boogie Nights won something… one of my all-time faves. Should’ve not been snubbed from a Best Picture nomination at the very least!

Titanic's music has tons of iconic parts, not just the Heart Will Go On motif. The only score that would have deserved to beat it this year is Gattaca.

The Titanic score is one of the best and most memorable film scores of all time. The melodies in the song are not at all representative of the full orchestral score.

You’re still my Queen and King, but AGAIG was one of my favorite movies of the late 9Os. My teen self rated it quite highly. Incidentally, Rosie O’Donnell says she auditioned several times for the part that eventually went to Hunt, and that the character was written older and more frumpy. Also, in his book, Isaac Mizrahi says he came very close to being cast in the Kinnear role. The Hans Zimmer score is one of my favorites. Hey, don’t forget about the 1989 Oscars show!!!

I think the 10 would have been: Amistad As Good as It Gets Boogie Nights The Full Monty Good Will Hunting L.A. Confidential The Sweet Hereafter Titanic Wag the Dog The Wings of the Dove

I donno I still think As Good As It Gets holds up well. I still watch it from time to time when I need a “feel good” movie. Only complaint is it’s about 25 minutes too long.

Burt absolutely hated Boogie Nights and Anderson which baffles me. Had he not constantly trashed the movie and Anderson he might have had a better chance of winning the Oscar

Cameron Diaz never got the credit that was due to her. She was great in Being John Malkovich, Mary, and Vanilla Sky.

I didn’t know she retired. I missed that announcement. Hmmm … people come out of retirement all the time.

LA Confidential was the best picture that year.

Backlash, haha. The good old days before the cell phone and haters agenda against the justified true winners. Most people didn't even have computer! Tip for Chris, limit "like" in your speaking. Titanic had to win over the others. It was so obvious. No flipping way Good Will Hunting could have won over Titanic, sorry Harvey. Robin was long overdue at that point and was a good role. Everyone rejoiced at his win.

You two are so drowning in political correctness that I doubt this video will age well. Characters are not meant to be politically correct slogans, they are meant to be real. Jack Nicholsons character is not meant to be likable in the movie, but he changes in the course of it. No wonder Hollywood is going downhill with the logic you lot display.
