Every month is white history month. Trust me, my highschool curriculum was full of it. This nation, at its core, is run on white supremacy. People hear that word and it causes immediate defensiveness. Relax. As you said, whites are the overwhelming majority, so why not create a system by which said majority is certain to proliferate? Human beings are a tribal species. Trust me, just attend a Raiders vs Chiefs game. In that light, racism is also a natural thing. Innovations in travel and communication devices have proven this without argument. However therein lies the problem: America is a democratic constitutional republic in its infancy, (though truly a political oligarchy) and have promised certain privileges for people who are not white. In order for America to become what it says it is on paper, America had to "unbecome America". Now we have these unnatural encounters of many different cultures, and immigrants taking advantage of said travel advances in order to become Americans. Holy crap, they just elected a black president! Course correction #45. Americans want change, but not that much! The Declaration wasn't written on behalf of people who are not white, nor was the Bill of Rights. 200 years later, we're all here, Americans of equal rights trying to undo the mess that the forefathers made. So yes, there's a certain calculus within creating a truly equal society, even though the majority very likely has a relative, associate, or friend in every aspect of the socioeconomic structure of this country (white supremacy/white privilege). However, whites continuously don't understand the advantage of this networking within your tribe. In order to counterbalance this networking advantage, affirmative action was introduced. It isn't a perfect solution, but it's evidently a more plausible answer than Sherman's Field Order No.15. However, if my name was Jamal and your name was Dustin, concrete studies show that with the exact same credentials and resume, you will get the job. If you and I committed the exact same crime, you will serve a sentence 19% shorter than mine. My grandparents were sharecroppers; No education, totally illiterate. This is common in the south. My parents had to quit school in the 8th and 10th grades in order to help out in the fields. So when my older brothers and sisters were bussed from "separate but equal" black schools, which were anything but equal in terms of curriculum and facilities, who was there to help them with their Trig and Economics homework? Science fair? Whites have an advantage that I call "A legacy of knowledge ". There is a far greater chance that a white grandparent had a college education than a black grandparent. This is of extreme importance TODAY, in an atmosphere that many suggest that simply because no one alive was in slavery, the impact of slavery is nullified. LIES! Jim Crow was legalized slavery performed through white supremacy, and despite all attempts, blacks and whites will never be equal in this or any other country because of the white supremacy, Manifest Destiny foundation that America was founded on. These actors are amongst the greatest black actors in history. Because of this excellence, they have obtained movie roles written for white actors. Yet, despite their performances, they don't command the salaries of comparable white actors. DVD's in full HD of all of Denzel's films are leaked two weeks prior to their release with the message, "For Awards Consideration". The leaker is either a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures, or someone involved with the film. This does a number on it's earning potential. So those black men are on stage because they know what sacrifices black actors and filmmakers have to make in order to be successful. Dave Chappelle walked away for $50 mil, and Halle Berry had to film the equivalent of soft core porn in order to win an Oscar for a leading role. With that credential, what has she done since? Lol. This is America. Oh, and I can't go back to where I came from because Ancestry.com says that I'm 23% Euro and 12% Native, along with my various African ancestral parts.

Ayingono Dalila F. He spoke in a west African accent to display typecasting and discrimination to black actors/ actresses. The part where he’s telling about them not getting into the party is also an inside lug at Hollywood who didn’t allow him in the party and are now awarding him at the same ball

He was nominated for Do the Right Thing for best screenplay written directly for the screen, that's certainly not an accomplishment to be overlooked, I'm sure he received congratulations then as well as eight years later when he shared a nomination for best documentary.

Wesley snipes just casually reminded the kids... He is much more than Nino Brown and Blade!! Its funny many people forget Wesley was the first and last real Black Action-film star with the keys to hollywood... Then the IRS came knocking!! Sam L Jackson is a legend along with Denzel and the kids regard them as such.. But i don't think millenials can grasp How big Wesley used to be..... in context He was the Black Van Damme with a much better acting range!! Wesley is above Will smith and all the others in terms of Black Action film stars by far.. I hope we remember to put him up in the Mount Rushmore of black actors along with Morgan freeman and the likes.

I went to Purchase College with Wesley, & I saw Denzel in the one man off Broadway show "When The Chickens Come Home to Roost". So I've been paying attention for more than a minute. I've been on the Spike Lee train since the very very beggining. Saw "She's Gotta Have It" when it came out, in a tiny theater in "the Village" in New York. I lived in Fort Green Brooklyn up the street from his Store, and bought his books, t shirts, sound tracks.. watched him struggle to get Malcolm X made. & I observed & scratched my head a ton of times a ton of years ago, when hearing Samuel Jackson, AFTER he got through the door.. always diss Spike. I believe Spike (as he did for a ton of other actors) got Mr. Jackson his SAG card to work on film. So here it is a ton of years later, the Oscars (who kept the door closed on Spike), are giving Mr. Lee an award.. & who's on stage to give props (& talk about not getting paid).. Samuel L. Jackson.. God bless the 360.. cause things do turn around .. with Patience. Those 2 other brothers up there always gave Spike 100% love.. even after their careers exploded. Peace

I LOVE this! The camaraderie. The showmanship. The mutual respect. Of course, the love. The beauty and strength they embody is undeniable. Their talent speaks for itself. Each of them possessing great acting skills and intelligence. They support their families, their people, and their race overall and that is well received by the public in general. My prayer is to someday share the big silver screen with them. Believe it or not; I have actually met all 3 of them plus Mr. Spike Lee himself. In my experience they were all kind, and gentlemen first class. Thank you for posting this video. I come back and view it from time to time. I truly enjoy how it serves as a ray of hope and sunshine for me.
