The funny part about this is that when Eastwood was cast for "A fistful of dollars", he did not speak Italian, and Sergio Leone did not speak English. I imagine that he picked up the language mainly while shooting the 3 iconic westerns ("A fistful of dollars", "For a few dollars more", and "the good, the bad and the ugly"), and continually improved it from there.

On Ones a Upon a Time in The West It was Leone's desire to have the music available and played during filming. Leone had Morricone compose the score before shooting started and would play the music in the background for the actors on set. GENIUS

My father and I watched "Two Mules for Sister Sarah" today, my father is an old man to be a father and since I was young my father introduced me to all the bang bang spaghetti films that he knows and love, and most of them Ennio was present with his fantastic soundtrack. I was studying Italian at university when this happened, and the next day we asked our instructor "How did Clint Eastwood do?" In my opinion the Maestro deserved a lot more oscars for his composing. Listen to the soundtrack of many of his masterpieces like Once Upon A Time In The West/In America, and many more. Only because he was foreign. And everyone knows that the oscar committee doesn`t like foreign movie directors or composers. He waited much to long to receive the 'Golden' Statue.
