Then movies released after the 90's are just iteration, bad copies without a soul. Few exceptions though with Arkham Knights (and Nolan movies in general) or LOTR. Marvel movies are "ok" but tends to lack deepness. I mean I see them once and I am fine. Dont feel the need to rewatch them countless times like my movies from the 80's. And I am sure it's not a "nostalgic" thing.

Im split about it. I absolutely loved Fury Road from a film standpoint. It was like action art on film, ive never seen anything quite so beautifully chaotic. Miller pulled off a technical masterpiece... But as a Mad Max movie? It was lacking. Granted that was the direction I think George Miller wanted to go, a stripped down plot and character. Tom Hardy is one of the best actors working today so it was definitely a deliberate character choice. It worked for that movie but not for the series as we knew it. I wanted to see Mel back. He said he was too old now but I disagree he absolutely still can do another Mad Max. But I cant see him fitting into Fury Road, if that makes any sense.

Due to their rep, some bad guy who wants revenge goes after Murtaughs family-maybe kills one or two of his kids. Murtaughs age is a big hinderance, but he gets some good hero moments. Murtaughs age and pain makes Riggs really look inward on himself and that he can't be the go-crazy cop he's always been.

I’m always gonna remember being 5 years old (yes I said 5, my dad had me watch it when I was very young) and watching every time Murtaugh screaming Riggs name for whatever reason, Riggs karate like fist fights, Riggs 9 mm beretta and Murtaughs Smith and Wesson 6 shooter, the saxophone theme music, Murtaughs station wagon, the constant confusion of when to start shooting on 3, and Riggs rockin those cowboy boots. Best memories of my life.

Murtaugh is retired, living the family life with his kids in college/dealing with the troubles of working jobs. He's glad to be retired but getting bored of the routine. Riggs is still hanging on in a department and police force that wants him gone. His old school ways of beatdowns and high speed chases are strictly forbidden, one more blemish on his record and he's done for. He keeps quiet, trying to follow the books with young new by the book police officers. The district attorney is taken hostage along with several of the pedestrian bus systems. The bad guy releases videos on the internet every hour stating his demands. He wants his cousin released from prison, convicted of a terrorist act by the district attorney, and he wants cash and transport out of the country. Every video will be livestreamed and they will blow up a bus. It seems in the video that the district attorney seems to be signaling somehow. Murtaugh, working part time in his retirement as a consultant for the district attorney office (part time hours for little pay, some questioning and insight) is asked to help figure out what she's saying. The new by the book cops have attempted to get the job done the PC way, but 2 buses have exploded and many killed. Murtaugh refuses to get involved as the system has changed and he's "too old for this shit", however, when his old school partner Riggs comes to him, saying that he's been offered a clean police record and an early retirement to take them down, they team up for one last lethal mission.
