In a somewhat near future, Philip has created yet another KZbin channel, called "FarmFirstTimer." List of episodes: 1. "Mum tries out catching a frog (activity since late 1800s)" 2. "Dad tries out visiting 'The Icon' with mum watching (2004 maybe?)" 3. "7 year old Jasmine tries to successfully pat a sheep - FarmFirstTimer Advanced" more soon to come... XD

fean but it’s expensive though, they worked really hard to get that apartment and make it have a modern look! But I also like their new Tasmanian home as it’s really nice, the animals are cute and Diana loves animals, it’s cheaper, and everyone will have more free time to make more videos and work less!

Among all the 16,740 people who watched this video, I am probably the one who enjoyed it the most! First time sleeping at your new home is always very special and will stick in your memory for ever, and you captured that day perfectly and had lots of fun as always! I really loved your mom's excitement over the sheep and the fruit garden. She seems natural when it comes to nature, she knows a lot, and everything she said is true. I loved how she was eating and inviting you to eat while you kept saying it requires treatment :D Also that joke about the icon, and the strange "creatures", the hide and seek you played with your sister. You will never forget that. Really loved this video. Such a happy and nice family.

Haha, we stopped making the icon joke after a couple of weeks living here :P I'm still cautious about treatment, although, with the strawberry needle situation in Australia, people would probably prefer for a while that there was no treatment. In regards to growing stuff, we overall stepped back a bit due to issues with the soil being too dry (our suburb is known to be dry) and yielding fruit that doesn't taste too great. But yes, this was fun! Certainly wouldn't wanna do it again though :P

What is the internet connection and speed like?...it's usually poor out in the sticks. What a fuss about a few raspberries, nice to see Diana enjoying the wonderment of nature for the first time in her life, yes, they do grow on bushes. :) Nice family.

I *love* how much space you now have. Don't be affraid of the non-treated raspberrys or fruits in general, those pesticides on the fruits from the supermarket are very unhealthy for you which is the reason you have to wash off them. They put a whole lot of chemical fertilizers in the fruits too to get them bigger which is the reason biological fruits looks smaller :) Pesticides are usually only necessary when you grow a VERY big amount of fruits, so when parasites attack the food it won't be a disaster. On our dacha we grow lots of fruits an vegetables ourselfs and if some single berry or fruit looks a bit bad or different from the normal ones we just throw it away :)
@OSFTHistoricVLogs
@OSFTHistoricVLogs 8 жыл бұрын
Emeraldy Still, what if the parasite has only just started contaminating the food so you don't notice it's bad... then you eat it and the parasite takes over your body and slowly kills you bit by bit?

How did you end up picking this place? It's totally different than the 7 houses you saw in a previous video. How much was it (if you don't mind me asking)? I would love to know the story behind how you found it and purchased it. As much fun as it's living in this house, the maintenance might be a nightmare, I mean taking care of all those plants and animals and the big lawn. 7 acres! That's like a full time job. But if your mom is not working and she really loves the farm life that much I guess she is enjoying it and it doesn't bother her at all, and you all can help her as well. Is your dad retired now or working a new job in Tasmania? Please do more blog videos. I am enjoying this channel more than the OSFirstTimer!

Diana and Ben wanted a quieter lifestyle. When they heard about Tasmania they looked for "good suburbs" such as Sandy Bay. They then looked in "Greater Hobart" which included rural areas and really liked the look of this house. They didn't even consider a rural property until they saw this house and then decided that rural was the change they wanted. They didn't want to see houses from their own and thus, this was perfect for them. From the sale of the old place in Sydney they had enough money to buy this house and live off the interest from the rest of the money. Sydney prices are very high and the tiny Sydney apartment was worth (when sold) almost triple the price of this large house in Tasmania.

That specific sunscreen is an all natural blend, no chemicals and thus safe, however, it's so expensive to buy natural sunscreen that it's not worth the money, I'd rather just stay out of the sun during high UV times (8am-5pm in summer). Plus, that natural sunscreen causes me to have extreme pimple break outs... I can't stand it!

2007 Ford Fiesta. Computers and cameras are important (videos like this last forever), cars however don't... whatever gets you from point a to point b will do and having a Ferrari won't benefit us in any way now, or in the future. Diana is a lover of "out of reach properties", me personally, as long as it's in a safe area, I don't care what the house I live in is like.

Did you manage to get the registation or name of the plane you went on, it looks like you were on a fairly new plane. Also you really should consider flying Qantas, Qantas have a whole terminal to themselves meaning that they have a very big checkin area in Sydney, or you could online check-in with Virgin Australia , meaning you could skip that whole checkin area altogether, unless you have baggage, but you will be able to skip half of it at least. I'm heading over to Tasmania and Sydney very soon and I'm so excited.

So... when you move in, what are you going to do with your $10,000 computer there? I don't think they are allowed on the plane...
@OSFTHistoricVLogs
@OSFTHistoricVLogs 8 жыл бұрын
It was $7,000 Australian Dollars ($5139 American dollars) in 2014. We are going by boat (need to drive to Melbourne though). Future computers I get (not getting another one till at least after 2022) will be a lot cheaper but have around the same specs. I'm letting technology jump ahead of me while I time lag right now. Thus why my iPhone 6 Plus is now over 2 years old and I'm not even considering upgrading it to the iPhone 6s for another 3 years (once the 6s is discontinued and dirt cheap). Time lagging with technology is awesome! (Thanks to hedonic adaptation)

Low paying jobs that don't require Tafe or Uni courses. The lesson is that it's not how much you earn, it's how much you save that helps you become rich. The apartment they live in took them 20 years of saving to earn. Examples of jobs they do... Paper runs, aged care, cleaning for body corporate and privately, calling the bingo and being an accountant and taxi driver.
