Among all the 16,740 people who watched this video, I am probably the one who enjoyed it the most! First time sleeping at your new home is always very special and will stick in your memory for ever, and you captured that day perfectly and had lots of fun as always! I really loved your mom's excitement over the sheep and the fruit garden. She seems natural when it comes to nature, she knows a lot, and everything she said is true. I loved how she was eating and inviting you to eat while you kept saying it requires treatment :D Also that joke about the icon, and the strange "creatures", the hide and seek you played with your sister. You will never forget that. Really loved this video. Such a happy and nice family.
@OSFTHistoricVLogs6 жыл бұрын
Haha, we stopped making the icon joke after a couple of weeks living here :P I'm still cautious about treatment, although, with the strawberry needle situation in Australia, people would probably prefer for a while that there was no treatment. In regards to growing stuff, we overall stepped back a bit due to issues with the soil being too dry (our suburb is known to be dry) and yielding fruit that doesn't taste too great. But yes, this was fun! Certainly wouldn't wanna do it again though :P

I *love* how much space you now have. Don't be affraid of the non-treated raspberrys or fruits in general, those pesticides on the fruits from the supermarket are very unhealthy for you which is the reason you have to wash off them. They put a whole lot of chemical fertilizers in the fruits too to get them bigger which is the reason biological fruits looks smaller :) Pesticides are usually only necessary when you grow a VERY big amount of fruits, so when parasites attack the food it won't be a disaster. On our dacha we grow lots of fruits an vegetables ourselfs and if some single berry or fruit looks a bit bad or different from the normal ones we just throw it away :)
@OSFTHistoricVLogs8 жыл бұрын
Emeraldy Still, what if the parasite has only just started contaminating the food so you don't notice it's bad... then you eat it and the parasite takes over your body and slowly kills you bit by bit?

How did you end up picking this place? It's totally different than the 7 houses you saw in a previous video. How much was it (if you don't mind me asking)? I would love to know the story behind how you found it and purchased it. As much fun as it's living in this house, the maintenance might be a nightmare, I mean taking care of all those plants and animals and the big lawn. 7 acres! That's like a full time job. But if your mom is not working and she really loves the farm life that much I guess she is enjoying it and it doesn't bother her at all, and you all can help her as well. Is your dad retired now or working a new job in Tasmania? Please do more blog videos. I am enjoying this channel more than the OSFirstTimer!
@OSFTHistoricVLogs6 жыл бұрын
Diana and Ben wanted a quieter lifestyle. When they heard about Tasmania they looked for "good suburbs" such as Sandy Bay. They then looked in "Greater Hobart" which included rural areas and really liked the look of this house. They didn't even consider a rural property until they saw this house and then decided that rural was the change they wanted. They didn't want to see houses from their own and thus, this was perfect for them. From the sale of the old place in Sydney they had enough money to buy this house and live off the interest from the rest of the money. Sydney prices are very high and the tiny Sydney apartment was worth (when sold) almost triple the price of this large house in Tasmania.

Did you manage to get the registation or name of the plane you went on, it looks like you were on a fairly new plane. Also you really should consider flying Qantas, Qantas have a whole terminal to themselves meaning that they have a very big checkin area in Sydney, or you could online check-in with Virgin Australia , meaning you could skip that whole checkin area altogether, unless you have baggage, but you will be able to skip half of it at least. I'm heading over to Tasmania and Sydney very soon and I'm so excited.

This is a modified video from the original. Those car horns and the crash were added in to remove the audio that states our new address. I also removed a 5 minute chunk involving driving around the perimeter of the property, seeing the mailbox and so on.
