I have had my own experience of being stalked. I was 27 yrs old,a new mother to my only child, and married to my husband for 7 years. I worked as a receptionist for a very well known and large Dr's office (27 Doctors with 150 employees). One of the older married male patients decided that he must have me,take care of my son,buy me my own house blah, blah. I didn't even know this man and he was saying he would leave his wife and his grown children's lives. It was crazzzzyyyy. He went to his vacation home in Mexico with his wife and brought me back all this really good quality jewelry to drop it off with 99 rose bouquet and I love you balloons. I explained to him right in front of my supervisor, one of his treating Dr's who happened to walk by the front check in area and nurse supervisor what was going on. Administration attorneys from the hospital along with the Dr fired this man from the practice and every time I clocked out,I had to have hospital security escorting me to the private enclosed parking garage. Thankfully, he never showed up but it's really scary to have a stalker.

She started off slow, but once Cassandra got the hang of the procedure she turned into a very compelling witness. Prosecution did a good job of indirectly introducing her to the process while on the stand through carefully phrased questions and gently keeping the testimony germane. You could tell the exact moment when Cassandra understood the point of the questioning, after that she only included details that she thought could possibly be relevant. Not an easy task for either of them considering that all the prep work appeared to have happened under oath. Good questions, good answers, it's always nice to see a team come together like that.

I hope we can follow that to the sentencing. I feel sorry for the guy because he is obviously ill (and possibly drugged from his speech) but I'm glad the young woman is being protected. She doesn't deserve to be on the receiving end of his delusions.

The NRA would object to this guy being unable to buy a gun. And he is EXACTLY the kind of person who should have no access to guns. Ever. And let me add, I am gun owner myself, but definitely not an NRA supporter.

I was stalked by my extremely violent ex-husband in spite of a PPO. I drove a school bus with special service children. He even followed my bus and stopped behind me as I dropped my students. My boss even filed charges on him. I made a police report for every incident also. This was in 1991 and laws were different then. I was terrified because he ignored the PPO and even after being locked up I saw him lurking in the shadows just far enough away so he wasn't in violation of the PPO. He wanted me to know he was there, watching me every day. It took several jail stays and moving 4 hours away to get away from him. I had to uproot my 3 children from the school district they had gone to their whole life. They were severely affected too and had to have therapy too. Even after we moved I still looked over my shoulder constantly. My point is that after all that I was still being stalked in my mind even though he wasn't there. It took a long time and a lot of therapy to finally feel safe. The fear doesn't go away so easily. Laws against stalking need to be stiffer to deter contact early on. Especially where DV has occurred.

Perhaps, now that the attorney has stated her actual apartment complex, she's thinking she's going to have to move to feel safe. I would. What she didn't do years ago was to actually get the police involved, thank God, but I'm surprised she's still alive. She should have been told to answer questions short and sweet, don't go on with unnecessary details. She really does get carried away. The quicker she's done, the quicker he's done, I hope they order mental help

When dude said, “Yeah she said she’d have my kid(s) if I ate her groceries, which I thought means if I ate her vagina…” (Edit:) Oh it gets even better! Thank you so much Ms. Reed for asking that question @ 48:16! And thank you Ms. Carter for correcting the them on what it means, and thank you Judge Simpson for laughing and going back over it! Oh man this is a great hearing! Thank you so much OSG for bringing this to us!
