To be honest, I think a lot of stories in anime, tv shows and movies these days are judged to quickly. OshinoKo set out to be multiple seasons from the start (as far as I read). That means that having a strong opener to hook you resulting into a longer section of building up the world, the characters and introducing all the trivia, is just part of the whole. I think if a lot of season one didn't happen, the characters would not have hit as hard in season 2. The way they return back to the town they were born was great. The switch between aqua and ruby this season would not have hit if season 1 didn't have the static in rubies mind haha. There is a lot in this show that happens with a lot of people. Best thing is it feels more and more like a massive story. I do think season 3 will fall down a little again with intensity, though not as low as season 1. But I'm reading the manga at the moment and currently halfway, what equates to, season 2, and my impression is that season 3 will end on a really dark note. But who knows XD Great vid

Season 3 might end somewhere that everyone will take out of context even if it was an important end to a character arc for a specific character. It might cause many manga readers to have enough from everyone saying that the same thing about the series as when the specific chapter came out and might just spoil the entire thing just to stop hearing the same thing over and over.

I hate to tell you man... no spoilers here, but from going ahead in the manga, I have to say that you are in for a rough time writing-wise. The character inconsistencies, thrown away promises to the audience, and contrivances become too much to ignore. Amazing production quality on display here, but the writing suffers hugely going forward.

What are you talking about? this happens every cliffhanger, reddit says it's the worst writing and next week it gets a satisfying conclusion. Please tell me you have your own opinion.
@MrBoponpa18 күн бұрын
@@DPhoenixMMA If you're asking about if I have a problem with cliffhangers, I don't; I actually dropped S2 post Tokyo Blade arc to go read the manga because I got tired of the drip-feed pace of the plot. It was 50 or so chapters later that I determined that the author is more keen on getting the characters into situations where aspects of the true entertainment industry can be "exposed" than on properly developing and utilizing the characters in their own story. As for cliffhangers though, Oshi no Ko does lack confidence when it comes to directly following up with cliffhangers. It's usually the case that the story cuts to something else entirely for an episode or two that we may or may not be interested in otherwise before following through with whatever we were actually interested in seeing at the time of the cliffhanger. edit: lacks confidence in the material provided between a cliffhanger and its resolution, so the way we'll keep you tuned in is by sandwiching it between those

@@MrBoponpa thank you, didn't expect a answer. I was mainly talking about the manga. I agree, sometimes it feels like aka puts characters in situations to expose the industry. What i was trying to say is, i feel like people love to say that it is a bad manga with bad writing because they are angry at aka in that exact moment and outsiders read that and they just copy paste that opinion without reading that manga. (just watching the anime)
@MrBoponpa18 күн бұрын
@@DPhoenixMMA I can see how that would be frustrating. I'll say that I wanted Oshi no Ko to be good (especially with the amount of resources being devoted to it) but the biggest limiting factor to its potential is that "solving the mystery of the mother's murderer as a high schooler in the show biz" constantly fights with itself as a premise. It lacks the pace of something like Death Note in terms of actual clues, plays, twists, and reveals because--let's be real for a second here--in order for a clue to come up for Aqua, he has to go through an entire production cycle while Kana and the others spin their wheels in their respective arcs. Doesn't change that the first episode's delivery was amazing though.
