Artist's Note: "Mephisto is a man who makes a deal with the devil to become his country's most famous actor, but in doing so, he becomes the morally compromised evil that he once feared." What a great name for this ending.
So I started reading the Oshi no Ko manga about a year ago, because Kaguya isn't really my thing but I was interested in some of Akasaka's other work. I KNEW this show would take off as soon as the anime was announced. The setup and premise of this show are incredible, and that first episode is nothing short of a masterpiece. I still read the manga every week, so I have a pretty good sense for this show's themes and such. I wasn't planning to cover anything from Oshi no Ko, but the ending grew on me more and more as the weeks went by, and I ended up wanting to give this a shot.
Yoasobi definitely made something special with Idol, but that should absolutely not take away from how good this ending is. I think it's gone underappreciated, which is a shame. It's emotional, mysterious, and haunting, while encapsulating Aqua's complex emotions and motivations. It's perfect for this show. Hope y'all enjoy my version of it.

AW HELL YEAH!! Everyone out there is talking about how good 'Idol' is, and while that's true, 'Mephisto' is just sooo good too. Oshi no Ko really lucked out with some banger themes. Awesome cover, dude!

I'm always a bit critical of covers, coming from a singers background of sorts. So while I do have positives, I also have a bit of criticism when it comes to things like this. It feels like the start of the song was just a hair too strong, with a bit too much enunciation in the first few lyrics. That, however, is where my criticisms end, and my praise begins. This is absolutely wonderful, one of the best covers thus far. Your lyrics and voice flow beautifully with the background music, and match almost one for one with the timing of the original (not always the easiest mark to meet.) Very well done, my friend! I look forward to hearing more from your channel.

This is still one I need to check out. Everyone's going crazy over the opening theme, which I'm not denying is catchy, but holy crap, I'd probably say I like the ending theme is better, if your version is any indication (though the original version probably sounds a fair amount different, so I guess I'll have to check that out lol). That being said, this one was incredible as always, Silver Storm. Amazing job. I especially like the instrumental to it (always love an incredible guitar solo like the one here!)
