In Nigeria, let the topic of Marriage be regularly on the lips of all pastors, social media platforms, tv talk shows & the like, preaching:- "We cannot love the institution of marriage, more than we love ourselves, more than we love our lives". We must continue to unlearn all these societal values that have been instilled in us, & ensure the younger ones have different mindset. This is truly a very sad end to this woman who endured so much. We can feel the pains and anguish from her soul through her songs. The church is failing many people by not standing against abuse in marriages and highlighting the need for supporting individuals through difficult relationships. If we emphasis that divorce is not a sin maybe many would be alive. Many Pastors and church ministers are abusers themselves. We need to provide impartial counselling to people. It is obvious that Osinachi gave up to avoid the stigma from the church now she's lost the fight. Marriage is not by force.

A friend of mine whose’s Father was Pastor narrated a story to me recently. His Father the Pastor advised a Lady member of his Church to return to her Husband after she left the matrimonial home due to physical abuse. Like most Nigerian Ladies she obeyed her Pastor. The Husband eventually beat his Wife to Death. God in Heaven will hold … 1. Every Member of a Church who is aware of instances of Physical Abuse. 2. Those in Authority in the Churches of Nigeria. … who remain silent and pretend that the Problem of Physical Abuse does not exist in and outside of the Church. These same Disobedient Church members will be calling Church Leaders ‘Daddy’ and ‘Father’ dispute Jesus Christ command not to address anyone as such. Matthew‬ ‭23:9 Do not call anyone on earth [who guides you spiritually] your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. We as Christians are ALL to BLAME for the Hypocritical Life that is devoid of the Compassion of our Real Father in Heaven and his Son Jesus Christ. Where are the Men Filled with the Spirit of God [A Spirit of BOLDNESS] ??? When he hear your neighbour beating his Wife you keep silent like a mouse. All that was needed was ONE MAN to stand up to the Abusive Husband. It was ONE MAN Holy King Jesus that died for us … Not ONE MAN to stand up for the anointed Daughter of God. Nigerian Men Love to Slap Women and Children … In this we see their BOLDNESS Daily. Shame on Every Christian in Nigeria. Cowards and Worshippers of Men. ‭‭

I also learnt that her pastor (Eneche) knew about it & some other pastors and told her to keep praying about it; if it was their child that is being battered, will they condone such behavior from the husband? come to find out that her husband was also a Deacon (deacon from hell).. Knowing the kind of society Nigeria is, the image of the church is more important than the life of the members and all these religious ppl trying to have a pious face/image is really killing women; I hope that those who told her to be praying instead of leaving that hell-hole called marriage are happy. they all contributed to her death; when one goes through domestic violence, they dont think right. How she was able to compose herself and sing wholeheartedly baffles me; She never looks happy; she was just faking happiness. This is an example of what religion does to the psyche of humans. With all the knowledge of the Bible she had, it still imprisoned her mind to believe it was a sin to leave an abusive marriage. Even after all the people she confided in, advised her to do right by herself. She still stayed for the man to finally finish her up. Maybe, she just gave up and wanted to just go meet her creator, cos most of her songs to me are a sign of crying out for help. But what her pastors did not teach her is heaven only help those who help themselves. One must take the initiative in her decision making, and action towards that decision before God will back the person up. It’s so sad for such a light to be quenched by the evil so called hubby. Women, don’t be ignorant; stop allowing religion to think for you. That’s why the same God you claim to know gave us common sense to reason & be practical with matters. May her beautiful soul rest with her creator. People with great callings upon their lives usually have the wrong partners to ruin them. But let’s wisen up please.

What a sad way to exit this plane of existence! Apparently, her husband could not perceive her frustrstions from melody and passion she put into her ministrations. The leaders of different congregations where she ever ministered could not discern by the Spirit her frustrations and heartfelt cries. Marriage failed her, the husband man deprived the children of motherly love and care, the church and close associates failed her, and the larger society will be failing her if proper investigation about her death and subsequent prosecution (if necessary) isn't carried out. May her sweet soul find peaceful repose and may God comfort her kids. For the husband, no words to him for now. To every married woman: ONCE YOUR HUSBAND LIFTS A HAND AGAINST YOU, RUN! RUN! RUN! Whatever you do, family, people, church, and the greater society will always say something! If she were alive now, she could plead her case in any competent court for marital abuse. But now that she's no more, who would plead her case before a judge?

I do not support what Osinachi's Husband did to his wife but your comment is very myopic and ignorant. This is why we should always ask our Elders in our families about the morals in our culture. For your information, The IGBOS have a high moral standard when it comes to marriage. If a man lays his hands on his wife or willingly doesn't wish to perform his marrital responsibilities, he will be seriously dealt with by his own Umunna. Same goes to Women who are not faithful or are very disrespectful and disobedient to their husbands. In the Womans case, she will be antagonised by her Umuopku/Umuada. This was why the IGBO marriage system and society was highly moral years back. But what do we have now.... IGBOS who are so desperate to emulate other cultures especially, the western culture and then blame each other for treating their spouses badly. They stupidly go ahead to look for solution from these same cultures that made them eer when the solution lies within them.

Conspiracy of silence. This woman should have been praying for God to give her wisdom and strength to leave an abusive man. I don’t know where God said in the bible that christains should stay in a toxic marriage. Christians are supposed to be led by the Spirit of God. Yet they seem to believe that the Holy Spirit encourages people to stay in dangerous marital situations!!! This thing will seriously stain the body of Christ if it is left to continue. They need to start a MANDATORY course in churches that teaches christains that God prefers you alive and single/divorced than to end up dead from staying in a toxic relationship. I can’t believe all these cases I keep hearing! This is ridiculous!

The first time I listened to her hit song 'Ekwueme', it took me to another level and anytime I listen every morning when having my devotion, I have goose bumps all over. When will the government start making laws that protect women from abusive husbands like this wicked, ugly man. In Igbo land in the old days there's something called "Mgbapu" which is a kind of peaceful protest that women embark upon in matters like this until something is done. By now one would think that all the married women and even the Umuadas will be on every street in the east demonstrating because of Osinachi and Chichi whose husband also roasted to death last week and many like them. Most igbo men especially the ones that grew up in the east have this toxic masculinity that makes them think their wives are their priced possession who they can control and beat like criminal at their whims and these type of men never do well in life. This is why I sometimes worry about this Biafra thing because most women are just slaves in their marriages in Igboland contrary to what other tribes believe that Igbo men take care of their wives. Loring iro. I have seen and I'm tired of seeing even those that are law enforcement officers who know the law are worse. I just feel sorry for those 3 boys they have because witnessing how their father treat their mother and even being instructed by him to flog her- chai! could as well influence their behaviour and how they'll also treat their own wives when they get there. God please accept this woman's soul that she may finally rest from her travail

I'm a believer but i have been scared of marriage because of physical abuse that's why when i was ready to get married, i did it my way, i didn't go for canceling from any pastor because i know some of them, their marriages are not good example. I did traditional and court wedding. Since that incident my husband and i are fine. I thank God. I'm not listening to anybody body or pastor. When its not right we will go to the law. Thank you Summer ❤

The stigma in divorce and the church failing her caused her death. I wish people talked about this and ashamed the husband when she was still alive. Ma fellow women walk away from abusive marriages. Better be a divorcee, a single mother alive and not dead. Rest in Power...

No. No. Her Father( You Meant God?), Never Called Her Home, She Was Allegedly Murdered By A Crazy Fellow. Stop Speaking On God's Behalf. God Is Love, Hope, Peace And Power. He Will Never Cut Short The Life Of A Young Person. Let's Separate Religion From Spirituality And Common Sense. If She Had Spoken Out She Would Have Gotten Help And Be Alive Now

Summer: you have not sung in public for a long time. How about you sing this song, special request. I hope her husband isn't responsible for her exit. May her soul rest in peace.

This is why I tell women who God has given a mission here on earth 🌎 should be careful who they end up with as a spouse. If you're in an abusive relationship I always say leave that relationship for your safety. And this so called church now are going to be trying to cover up and her family will be crying when they could all have rescued the suitation. What a painful 💔 loss.

Oh,Summer, what a wonderful song to end the video with. I will definitely miss hearing new ministrations from her. I loved her way of praise and worship. Finally, I've gathered the strength in me to say: May sis Osinachi's soul rest in peace.

My heart goes out to her Children, no Mom and no Dad. Who will take care of them?? Sooo sad on all levels. If they were in the USA they would get a check monthly until they turn 18. Broken children hope they get some bereavement counseling .🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️

I read the interview vanguard had with her elder sister...according to her, the husband beat her up and kicked her in the chest. He actually took her to the hospital but didn't mention to the doctor what really happened. She went further to say that the younger brother asked the doctor what killed her and according to him, the doctor stated that she had some clumps of blood in her chest...
