It's great that you include so much of you just vibing and getting carried away - imo that's the best bit in making a track so it's cool to be able to share that with you. When the ride came in at 11:40 that was my reaction too!

Can you feel it?!! hehe, definitely feel the Larry Heard vibes on this one, good stuff. ModBap modular knocking it out of the park with this one, for sure will become a very popular module

Your videos are probably my favourites on YT. Often I don't understand much but your enthusiasm is so contagious, and at the same time you seem so chill. Like hot (as in temperature) sauce on ice cream or something like that. Hope to see you in Norway one day. One last thing. I got the Synthesis technology E352, and the screen is great to have, so you or anyone else who got this module might enjoy using an oscilloscope with it. Also, If this module has an lfo mode, a fun thing to do is to use these waves together with a quantizer.

There are plenty of "nuts and bolts" videos out there that cover the specs of various bits of gear but not many try to convey the joy of exploring a new instrument. Thanks for the inspiration!

Rewatching this with my coffee this morning tying to nail down modules for my first modular synth. Damn this is a good video! You are gifted. Such a nice small set up. I am going to go with the 104hp version to have a little extra. The Osiris and the Maestro will (when I can find them) be there for sure. Thanks for doing your thing and sharing these vids. What an education!

Loving this jam and the videos as always, Ricky. Just a thought for space-saving: if you use one of the Maestro channels in one-shot (envelope mode) to modulate your filter cutoff and the internal VCA of the Osiris, you could have another 4hp to play with. Obviously trade-offs, but just wanted to throw that out there in case it was novel!
@RickyTinez
@RickyTinez 2 жыл бұрын
ooooo good idea. that's why i love the Maestro, the module that keeps on giving.. more uses haha. Also someone mentioned the Maestro has internal VCA to tame the LFOs as well! super nuts. Thanks for the tip i'll try it out

Hey Ricky, a thought - Why not use the second input to Scales to quantize output 2 of Mimetic for the sub on Osiris? That probably would have sounded pretty good.
@os_ros
@os_ros 2 жыл бұрын
You quantize the v/oct input of osiris not the output. Scales it’s a CV quantizer not a harmonizer like a Meris Hedra for example. So you generate random cv with Mimetic, that cv goes into Scales and then into Osiris’s v/oct input. I guess that the v/oct affects both main and sub outs.
@mraymond77
@mraymond77 2 жыл бұрын
@@os_ros the sub has its own v/oct.

@os_ros 2 жыл бұрын
@@mraymond77 Oh, ok, I read again what you wrote, makes sense now. That would have been interesting: different CV patterns in sub and main quantized in the same scale. Cheers!

Hi Ricky. It’s G# minor! Ab minor would of course sound the same but give you more accidentals (7 instead of 5). Might seem trivial, but depending on the key it can make a huge difference, to the point that some would become essentially unusable. Cheers! Andre

About this time last year, I guess, I came across a tutorial where the chapter was closed with the recommendation: Just mess with it! What I find extraordinary, cool and inspiring is to watch you, Ricky, to do exactly that. While you keep talking about what you are doing or trying to achieve, you really get into it and get carried away … while just messing with it. When in the mood (of course) I could watch you doing that forever because this is so authentic and totally inspiring. Those videos give me that little extra push - and watched on a Sunday morning, this one made me smile and just happy! So great, Ricky, thanks for sharing this one! … and I am curious. May I ask what kind of notes you are using that little notebook for that showed up sometimes, lying right next to the modular case? It sure is okay if you prefer not to tell about it! As I said, I am just curious … and always up to learn something. Thanks again for your videos and sharing your knowledge and music!
