Just for anybody interested, Thurvaston's name means “Thurferth’s Farm” and is a combination of the Old Norse name Thurferth and Old English tun meaning farm or settlement.

Would these houses in the country have open fires? Seeing as you passed a few oil lorries I figured an open fire may be a thing

Yes it's likely. A lot of the ones that are truly in the sticks don't have gas

I'm all for new housing but the English countryside should not be touched as it's such a thing of beauty and peace

The sad thing is, later on this week you'll see a place just up the road from this one where there are new houses already
