Hi bro u said in this video that area border routers are responsible maintain LSDB and summarize the LSA is that the same what (DR) Do?
@PracticalNetworking2 жыл бұрын
No, not really the same. THe DR is the "messaging center" for a particular link, and doesn't do any abstraction of knowledge between areas/links. More details in these videos: - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXq3cpiFbc5si5Y - kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5qWpYGJis-VbZo

One quick question Ed, regarding the re-distributed routes into OSPF, will only apply to IGP routing protocols or will be also the case of iBGP or eBGP into OSPF Router 7 in the topology illustrated as the Autonomous System Border Router? Thank you in advance.
@PracticalNetworking2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jair. You can redistribute _any_ category of routes into OSPF. To include BGP routes. Even Static & Directly Connected routes. Even from one OSPF process into another OSPF process. Any redistribution whatsoever creates an ASBR.
@shadisaleh7316 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for this great series. I have a question though (two cases), 1- You said if we put a router between Area 88 and Area 99 there could be a loop, aren't OSPF a loop-free protocol? 2- What would happen if we do the same but with adding Area 0 so the router would belong to the three areas 88, 99, and 0?
