Thank you for the review! I was considering buying it (a newer model of Daylite Plus) but had some concerns about durability. And your review answered pretty much all of my questions. Now that I've got it I'm very happy with this backpack.

I see they changed the angle of the frontmost zipper to vertical, which is good. I have an older model on which the zipper is horizontal and basically unusable. On my the admin panel becomes unusable if you pack a lot of stuff into the main compartment, is it the same with yours?
@EpicModeEngaged Жыл бұрын
Yeah, it is. It's a great pack overall but it definitely has it's quirks

@@EpicModeEngaged They should really fix that :/ But the build quality is superb imho. The pants and back are especially great, very well ventialted, superb airflow. I wore it in July in Rome 2 years ago in high heat and it stood its ground great tbh with its airflow system. Only if it could a bit bigger :D It is kind of "small" for a 20L backpack. I have other backpacks which are 20L too but they are a bit bigger.. I guess it depends on how you measure that 20L. Some companies measure only the main compartment while others measure every little compartment I guess :D

@@groberti So true. yeah, I would agree with you that it could be bigger, but I guess that's why Osprey recommends the Manta 24. I actually tried it at REI but ultimately decided on the Gregory Zulu 30, haha

Maybe I missed it, what are your thoughts on the waist strap? Or rather what do you do with them? I appreciate it when the load is heavy, but when just walking around the city and not wearing the waist strap it digs in on my back.
@EpicModeEngaged7 ай бұрын
Good question! The waist strap is alright when I would use it. When I pack bigger loads it helps but not as much as a beefier waist strap offered on bigger backpack models. I think that is one of the reasons I got a 30 liter pack eventually because it distributes the weight better for heavier loads

You gave the straps a positive grade. 7 and even an 8. But what you said about them makes them a 4 or 5.
@EpicModeEngaged9 ай бұрын
Hmmm... maybe I should've been more specific. The shoulder straps are a solid 8-9 for the comfort and padding. The sternum strap is a 3- 4 and the hose clip (that is a part of the sternum strap system) I would give a 1- 2, honestly

Great review. What was the sitting pad you had in the back sleeve? Have been looking for one to fit and not take a lot of room
@EpicModeEngaged Жыл бұрын
Thanks, I appreciate it! It's my drone landing pad actually, haha. It's about 22.5" in perimeter when folded out. Pretty durable; I found it on Amazon

Have had this for 7 years, used as 1 of 2 daily packs, as awell as my motorcycle travel bag. Very satisfied with it. Unfortunately the new model does not have the external hydro pouch:/

Wow, that's awesome! Yeah, it's a great pack; disappointing to hear about the absence of the hydro pouch

Maybe I took it wrong but did you continue to wanna use a hiking pack you considered to be a 7 in comfort? Any you rank higher here in that size?
@EpicModeEngaged5 ай бұрын
I did. Mostly for the reason that there isn't a "perfect backpack" where everything is a 10. The Pros outweigh the Cons for this, in my opinion. Also, there is a good possibility Osprey have made the newer version of this pack more comfortable. I don't have another pack that is 20L, however, I use my Zulu 30 tons more and it's very comfortable. Not sure if that helps
@conniekeshet Жыл бұрын
could be your load was pretty heavy, so it would be more comfortable with less heavy things. thanks for the review.
@EpicModeEngaged Жыл бұрын
Possibly. I've discovered in the past few years that I am better off with wider & thicker shoulder straps on my packs. Definitely helps
