The bag is just AWESOME.. I’ve been using it for almost 2years.. fit as carry-on.. as for shoulder strap, i always use it prior to boarding the flight.. i will stow away the harness and zip the backpanel.. and use the shoulder harness.. it give a slimmer sillhouette to the bag, and more compact in the overhead compartment.. sometime by doing it, i can get away from weighing my bag during the checking..

then stay slurping lol, This bag is the most overhyped garbage backpack ever. Osprey really has a good marketing team. This bag is absolute dog feces compared to Aer Travel 2, especially if you have a laptop. Seriously wasted 200 on this thing, loppy balance, one giant pocket in front thats vulnerable to thieves. Inside has no organization except a sleeve which you cram everything into that is horrid. Only redeeming factor is that this bag is large and can fit a months worth of clothes in. Other than that, its the worst 40l osprey has ever put out
@TheNDex4 жыл бұрын
@@reggieangus5325 I was looking at this backpack and went to test it. I didn't like that the laptop was in front of the bag. Also, the compression straps were near the front which meant it didn't compress the whole backpack but front only. Other then that, the bag is ok but I'm sure there are other ones. I'm taking a look at Aer Travel since you mentioned it. Cheers!

I was highly considering this bag a while ago but I couldn’t get it for the one reason that the laptop compartment isn’t on the back of the bag like you said. If they would redesign that to the back I would buy it in a heartbeat. Instead I got the Osprey Porter 46. Absolutely love that bag for my one bag travel bag! Check it out and thanks for the great review as always!

@sagenev5 жыл бұрын
The back flap folds in at least once more so that the one side of the velcro can join the other side of the velcro on the bottom of the inside of that compartment. The whole flap should be tightly folded, and tucked underneath the bag, locking the velcro.

Very detailed and thorough review. You did a fair evaluation of its upsides and downsides without criticising it too much. And you took its moderate price into consideration compared to like Tortuga or Aer, which some other videos don't! That moves the Farpoint a few steps up the ladder, IMO. I agree with most things you pointed out, just one thing you didn't really touch on: the water bottle holders on the front are very hard to use when the bag is fully packed and the decent depth that you mentioned is almost gone. For me the bottle holders are one of very few weaknesses. Great video anyway!
@dannypacks5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! Im glad the video was helpful and that’s a great point on the water bottle pockets! I didn’t end up filling the bag up to its fullest capacity but I can definitely see it would be a struggle with the bag more full!

doesn't look like you could have a laptop at your back while having that harness system. Probably that's why Porter 46 doesn't have that harness system but has laptop closest to the wearer's back. I prefer the Farpoint 40 setup tho'

nice review, its amazing bag, super lightweight its made for travel light, and very paded im using that than my nomatic travel bag coz aside from superlight, very comfortable, you can pack a lot, my cons only is it didnt stand alone, at the airport its important that the carry on bag is standing alone specially if you are at the boarding gate or waiting area 2nd the back to hide the straps, that type people doesnt have time to close the zipper inside the plane before you put to airplane compartment ,there's alot of people coming from your back moving to their seats hehe

@dannypacks5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and im glad the video was helpful! As far as packing cubes there are so many good ones to pick from, my go to recommendation recently has been the peak design packing cubes as they seem to be the best option for most people since they are super light, compressible and have a compartment for dirty items. With that being said eagle creek, knack, and nomadic also have some really great packing cubes that might also be worth checking out. No, it's too big for that. It's designed to be a full size travel bag for smaller persons. My wife is 5'-0" and has the Fairview 38L that fits her well. She carries a day bag to complement the Fairview. Checkout the Pack Hacker review which discusses the differences in the bag sizes: packhacker.com/travel-gear/osprey/farpoint-40/

@dannypacks5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and good question! How does one test out these bags? Do you have to return the test bag? Do you have to have a certain subscriber count for them to send you a test bag? What if the bag gets damage from testing? Do you have to pay for it? I am curious to know. Great video by the way.
@dannypacks5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! I'm glad the video was helpful! As far as testing, thankfully I get to keep the bags so that i can properly test them and assess them not just on their features but also how well the hold up after a longer period of use. If the bag gets damaged from testing in normal use companies understand that that is part of the review process and I always make sure to communicate any issues I run into both in the reviews and directly to the company so they can be aware. As far as subscriber counts i don't think there are specific numbers necessarily I think it depends on things like your experience with reviews, the engagement your videos get, and your channels alignment with the brands. Hope that helps a bit and please let me know if there are any additional questions I can help answer =)
