Perfect! Exactly the video I was looking for, especially since all the stores are closed. I've been traveling for a long time with the fairview 40 but am considering a change (slightly larger) for colder climates/hiking trips so thanks for the detailed review it helped a lot!!!!

You spent a lot of time demonstrating the Trek 55 in detail But the whole time the bag is mostly out of shot. Still, we get to see your kitchen cabinets in full view which are very nice indeed 😂

I got a great deal on a Amazon warehouse deal on a Farpoint 40 for about $73.00 in 2020. I gave it to my daughter who loves it. Fast FWD to 2024 and the Farpoint 40 is at $185.00 now! How can they justify that kind of price increase? Especially when their packs are mass produced in Vietnam? Unreal!

I habe The Problem That the back Strapse dies into My shoulder because of the metal Thinge inside…do you habe an idea what can I do? Was thinking about If I can fix ist somehow?
@internexus13 жыл бұрын
Is this on the Trek 55 model you're experiencing this? If so, due to the design of the suspension framework there isn't going to be any way to change this. However, you can always try switching around the frame size between the 2 options available for both women and men. I know that the men's large was a better fit for my girlfriend (with the Farpoint 40) due to her height than any of the other choices so perhaps this can help you also. Personally for me, none of the Trek 55's fit comfortably and I chose the Farpoint 40 over it.

@@jolie840303 finding the right size can sometimes be difficult. If you have a store like REÍ nearby I highly recommend stopping there to compare backpacks for fit and the people are super helpful.

Well I thought I knew I wanted the 55L Trek, but after watching your review seeing how they compare, I'm wondering if I can just make due with the 40L. I was thinking it was just too small for me, but am impressed how much you were able to get in there. I do like the thicker straps on the 55L since I plan on doing some hiking and want to make sure I have a comfortable suspension system, but now I'm concerned about that curve behind the neck. I had noticed that before and figured it was designed so that it wouldn't bother anyone, but apparently it does! Decisions, decisions! Thank you for taking the time to show us the difference. . . .

I’m so happy that it gave you the details to make the best decision for your needs. If you have an REI near you I recommend trying the 40L out and if it doesn’t work they have an excellent return policy.

@@internexus1 Sean, do you still have the Trek edition? Just watched a video where they explained the harness. There are two small sets of clips above the harness/shoulder straps. You can loosen the straps off of the lower clips and loop them into the higher clips and tighten. That will move the shoulder straps much higher and get rid of that rounded area that was causing discomfort.

It's like your were reading my mind and anticipating every question I had. Having used a porter 46 (2015 Ed without the laptop sleeve) across Central America, Europe and Africa, I would say the trek is out of the question. For nitty gritty travel, chicken buses, tic tocs, tiny vans filled with people, they are not ideal. You stand out like a neon green alien too in places you don't want to stand out in. Virtually everybody will be wearing a book bag, rushing here and there, and those 40 litters can fit right in. A long Trek looking thing, not so much. You can do it, but it's not as carefree. I want to try the farpoint 40 for the superior harness, but I hate the laptop placement. I run hot too, and my size in similar to you, so I think that neck thing would be a deal breaker on the 55 anyway. Thanks for the review!

I think the neck piece should be lower. You have to adjust the straps

The Farpoint 40 fits me correctly but the Trek 55 dug into my neck no matter how I adjusted it sadly.
@whengrapespop5728 Жыл бұрын
@@internexus1the “neck piece” is not meant to be at the height of your neck. Did you get it fitted in the store? Sounds like you didn’t adjust the torso to your torso size, which would have lowered that part to sit below your neck.
