Just so people know, the reason the Transformers started using detached weapons instead of the ones that they had integrated into themselves was because Hasbro wanted to sell Transformers toys that had weapons that could be separated. In other words, money is why. You can see how Optimus went from integrated arm cannon to a detached weapon instead.
