I’m trying to rush 70 herblore on an Ironman and I’ve come to the conclusion that this skill is absolutely horrid and was never meant for ironmen. There is no way to rush herblore without playing for 15+ hours per day. Insane.

After playing on an ironman account for a year, I have come to the conclusion that herblore is not meant to be one of the first skills you do. In fact, there is no way to rush it on an ironman account. Not really. You just get seeds and herbs sort of passively from half of the other skills and activities. And after a decent while, you have accumulated enough to actually level it up. I have only one issue with it though. The herb sack should not require 58 herblore. It feels so awful to discard early slayer herbs just because you don't have enough inventory space. And it's really tough to get to that 58 herblore mainly because you have to do it without the herb sack. If they lowered the requirement to like 30, which is easier to get just by questing and a bit of grinding, it would feel much more fair. You would still have to grind a lot of tithe farm, or slayer points to buy it. But after you get that herb sack, it gets MUCH easier to acquire the herbs just by grinding slayer, picking up all seeds and herbs. You can get a lot from your kingdom as well, when you unlock it. And finally, when you get far enough to have a decent stockpile of important potions and can start bossing, those bosses will replenish your herb and seed wares faster than they use up said resources. Herblore becomes a really easy and passive skill, after you hit those milestones. Before hitting them, it feels really awkward and slow. Nearly impossible, even.

@@samisuhonen9815 Agree, I skipped Herblore and grind other skills like thieving and farming instead. Without 54 RC, getting law runes to do herb runs is very expensive. Now with most of my other skills at 50+, with farming 75, and thieving 60+ its much easier to thief master farmer for herb seeds. I haven found a passive way to earn more money for managing miscellania yet since my slayer is barely 50, so I guess thieving for seeds is the only way to go.

you can create wine of zamorak through tithe farm to grow and pick zamorak grapes with the scrolls , this you can do in the winery next to tithe farm with saltpetre and spade, theres a 50 percent chance the wine gets bad after fermenting but still 'doable'

Having 99 farming on my main I never saw anyone else at grapes omw to 99. 30min grow time and 1 to 1 gp xp. That's farming not herblore and main not iron but still.

There's no other skill that requires widespread development of most of your other skills to adequately level the skill. "leaving the skill to last" is not a strategy and having all of the resources after the fact cause you ignored the skill for a year doesnt make it "Easy" "PS: My Irons actually maxed"

For lower levels try and do all the quests and achievements you can and use all of the lamps on herblore , other than that if you have high Hunter herbivores are a great option and just keep up the the herb runs! Try doing farming contracts to get herb seeds

i feel this guide is a little out of touch with the experience of a normal ironman, ie that of someone whos job isnt runescape. You say to not use exp lamps on herb, which are acquired early game, but then you say early game its really hard to level. I think thats why the consensus is to use diary and random lamps on herb is because the early aspects suck and you need those levels for alot of things early on. Personally Im almost 1600 total but I am going for 70 herb for SOTE reqs. I dont have my slayer level up very high at all.

also with 600+kc thats not all that many herbs...took like 600 kills to get a stack of 450 herbs, thats 4.5 herb runs by your estimation which takes like 2/3 a day to collect.... not that efficient. Nice that theyre acquired passively though.

I think saving herblore until later is bad due to the fact youre barring yourself from using fairy rings and medium ardy task for pickpocket boost ;( so I would DEF recommend getting to at least the requirement to start fairytale 2 so you can unlock both the above stated items.

The part about Kingdom of Miscellanea at 6:18 is very wrong, and it's honesty frustrating seeing it being called a 10/10 after exaggerating it that much. All calculations below based on the wiki Miscellanea calculator First of all, you didn't have it 'mostly focused on teak logs'. This ratio of herbs to teak is only possible if you had 10 on herbs, 5 on teaks. So that's already overselling how much you can get on kingdom. Secondly, That's not '2 or 3 weeks'. To get that much you need about 31 days of collection. So to summarize, in your video, you (implicitly) claim you have 5 on herbs, and in 2-3 weeks you can get 120 ranarrs (480 in 4 collections). In reality, if you put 5 on herbs, you can get about 36 ranarrs in 2-3 weeks. So you overexaggerated how good kingdom is by more than triple.
