What I've noticed in movies is that it's often the slower moving, gentle killers that are the scariest, especially when you know what they are. It's like you're waiting for "a bit of the old ultraviolence" (to quote 'a clockwork orange') and know it could happen at any moment.

The joker was an unreliable narrator (Spoilers ahead) he's an unreliable narrator because as you go to the end of the movie you find out that all of the stuff that isn't happening such as his relationship with his neighbor it didn't happen and the way we saw we thought they were connecting but that was just in his mind. There are many events that happened that just didn't add up.

They mentioned car crashes are common in Korean thrillers. I wonder if it's at least partly due to the fact that striking up a conversation with a stranger is otherwise kind of socially awkward in Korea, so if you want two strangers to talk to each other you have to put them in a situation where they would be forced to do so.
@yopeepthestyle83084 жыл бұрын
Thats an interesting theory. It is true that its a bit awkward to talk to strangers in Korea in public unless its a bar or a club. But I dont think that has anything to do with the movies. In any movie even in Hollywood talking to a stranger is considered “weird”. Because its a movie and every action serves a purpose to move the narration. People bump into each other or coincidentally meet the same in Korean movies as in other Western movies if the director wants them to encounter each other. It has nothing to do with car crashes in particular. I like the theory tho
