Regarding the DLCs thing near the beginning, Peer Review actually was a separate (but still free) download on Xbox 360 and PS3. Left 4 Dead also had a similar case where a bunch of built-in updates that it got on PC ended up being released as standalone (and this time paid) DLCs on consoles because of weird policies they apparently had at the time. Also hi I was Ossy's coop partner in this video.

This might be interesting to you - I am actually planning on a video on the beta content of the Sixense DLCs, and there seems to be remnants of a scrapped VR implementation in the Perceptual Pack. Agreed! I could see something like this making VR games much more accessible in general. Sure, it might not be quite as immersive, but as an example, you could hop on a social VR game with your friends and be able to move your arms around just like everybody else while still being in desktop mode. Not only would it be quite a bit cheaper than a proper headset, but I could see it being very useful for those prone to motion sickness that have a hard time using VR.

The fact we did not get a new Portal game on VR shock me until this day . *yes i know may getting inside portals can make you sick . but come on . we need to be more experimental .

A Ratman game would be amazing, obviously they could give him the portal gun, but they could also do so much more, imagine if they gave Rattman a weapon wheel of Aperture gadgets, like the paint gun from Aperture Tag or the camera from F-stop, that'd be amazing even if it's not exactly portal, but heck they could give you those and the portal gun though it'd probably be a little complicated especially for new players who haven't already usdd the portal gun through the 2 games, but it'd be awesome for us fans who want a bigger, even better Portal game

never understood why Valve didn't patch in the sixsense stuff into the index controllers.. you could basically just, y'know, not use the VR headset but the two joysticks only. this is something i never understood! why can't we give functionality to the VR controllers beyond being just VR controllers? make em act as lightguns or something, you've got two sensors, i'm sure you could specify the size and shape of your monitor and everything for it to understand where you're aiming, or use calculations and calibrations to lock the controllers "in place". there's so much possibilities. i remember using my index knuckles as a gyro wheel when playing Forza Horizon 4 using a hacked wiimote program and that was amazing, so why no further uses?
@ezyglide09092 жыл бұрын
I’ve had similar thoughts about this too. Why limit VR controllers to just VR itself, when new game ideas can be explored that weren’t thought of before because of the limits of traditional game controllers. They are the next step in motion controls after the Wii and Joycons, considering they can 1)track space in real-time three dimensions and instead of gyro which is fixed in one position and 2) are more pinpoint accurate and less susceptible to having to recalibrate, which is crucial to 1:1 motion. As a switch owner, it frustrates me that not enough game developers are being imaginative with the Joycon’s unique features. Even if they can’t track in 3d space like VR controllers can, the fact that they have gyro functionality and are separate from each other still offers more opportunities to make creative gameplay mechanics that a Pro controller can’t, like the physics-based puzzles as seen in the video above. You can still grab and tilt objects by tilting the joycons. There can be workarounds. Or hell, dual wielding pistols with the joycons, but each one actually fires in different directions depending where you’re point each controller. I’ve wanted a game like that so badly. But my guesses are, with VR becoming the next big thing (which I’m not complaining, since it’s what lots of people dreamed of back then and it’s finally being refined. And I own a quest 2), developers probably don’t want to take away VR’s thunder if they do make games with VR controllers in non-VR titles, fear they are risky projects that people won’t be interested in, or are just plain unimaginative. Regular mouse and keyboard and gamepads are fine, but what if I want to aim using motion. It’s much more immersive and natural, and personally, more fun and accurate than aiming with old analog right stick. We want options for different play-styles. If both of those methods offer gameplay that work seamlessly to their respective games and audiences, why can’t the same be said for motion controls?

Also absolutely horrible that you did not include the wonderful noises that the scalable cube makes

Huh, funny, weeks ago a cousin of mine gave me his PS Move and looking for games that use them on PS3 I saw that Portal 2 had it, and wow, I have Portal 2. I thought I was missing out on more content as I was a bit disappointed that there were so few levels in the tutorial and advanced trials but I see that's about it. As a fun fact, you can play the normal campaign and the co-op campaign with the motion controls, in co-op one can be with the motion control and another with a normal DualShock (I know this because I play the co-op campaign locally with a friend), it is really fun to play Portal with motion controllers, even if you can't use the extra features.

That would be amazing, but considering they already gave us the two games, with the still alive dlc for Portal 1 for only $20 I doubt they would have even considered re-adding the sixense levels and making them work on the switch even if they could, but I don't think so since the Joy-cons aren't exactly wiimotes, but I could definitely imagine someone making this possible if someone made a mod on PC that re-adds the levels and makes a wii-mote connected to ur PC work with the game, but that'd be really complicated even just re-adding the levels, let alone programming the controls around the motion controls of the wii-mote, but I think it could potentially be done with it if someone tried, but who knows, I'm sure a VR controller could do the job if the wii-mote isn't advanced enough though, but like I said I doubt anyone will ever go through the effort to do that.

I'm listening to this man talk about the Perceptual Pack and calling the Senz3D camera an offbrand Kinect whilst a fucking actual Xbox 360 Kinect is sitting right in front of my computer monitor and staring me directly in the face, so now I'm wondering if its possible to somehow use it as a replacement in the same way that it was possible to get VR controllers working in place of the Hydra

Razer should develop a vr competitor with the hydra.
