Ostend, Belgium Pt2

More aimless wandering! Actually, not entirely aimless, some serious eating was done in the 'Maritime', a restaurant close to the church. Excellent food, and for anyone wanting to visit, the staff are fully fluent in Dutch, French and English, at a pinch, they might cope with American.

Quite a contrast in architecture. I'm sure when we were made everyone thought we looked grand too, but look at us now, just relics of the past...

+cutworm59 This part of the coast has lots of apartments, and I think that many are 'holiday apartments' rather than homes. And there isn't much room for you to shoot your guns or keep several dozen cars! The North Sea is pretty cold for a lot of the year, but plenty of folk like to take their breaks there. We just go there for day trips, a mixture of shopping and eating, because of some strange tax regulations, some stuff is a lot cheaper in Belgium than England, so the day out is 'cost neutral', even allowing for the ferry fare. However, model railroad stuff is not cheaper!
