I have bought the limited pink edition clippers back in 2008 and still use them today. As a licensed pro of 15 years, they are the best heavy duty performing clippers I have ever used compared to other brands such as Babyliss, Wahl, etc. This video is wonderful due tips of maintenance and showing how. These clippers are truly very low maintenance cause of how its built and get hair off when doing 0 fades. Thanks Oster for building such a great clipper I can trust.

I also brought the pink edition oster 76 clipper, I love them. But the pink is starting to chip off and got scratches on it from normal daily usage. I wonder it I could spray paint my Clippers?

Agreed. The pack-in instructions (for new owners) is very lacking in diagrams. I expect the outer casing to vary by model and when it was made, but the inner workings to change very little.

Thank you this awesome video, i purchased my 76clippers in 2008, pink edition. I've sent it out twice for repair. This video save me time and money. I can stay on top of my maintenance. Plus it showed me things I knew nothing about my clippers. I appreciate how well built they are and what awesome value I purchased.

An excellent video. I did all of this on my grandfather's Oster Classic 76 and it's been working great. This video gives the exact detail level needed to do the job quickly and easily. I use 3-in-1 SAE20 oil and the Superlube from Harbor Freight instead. I just got haircut today with the "76" and it performed like new.

Hello, would you say too still do the gear lube 2x a year if I'm using it for myself every 6-8 weeks? Also, how long do you think the brush pair would last for? I already do the blade wash and use the blade lube after each hair cut. I skipped buying the disinfectant spray just because I'm the only one using this. Thanks!

If I do 20-30 clipper cuts a day, how often should I be changing the bushings, greasing the inside? I have blowen out 2 pairs in less then 2 yrs.. I do grease them and clean them every 3 months.. but I still end up blowing out motors with in 6-9 months.. im on my 3rd pair now.. the blades wobble alot also..

Epic tutorial, easy to follow and extremely articulated. Thank you. Question, is there a homemade way of making a blade wash? If so, how do you make it?
@slipknot737454 жыл бұрын
debora hardy In a pinch, I've seen recommendations for 50/50 water/rubbing alcohol and 50/50 water/white vinegar. I see no problem in using water/alcohol as long as you 1. use filtered/distilled water (minerals could prematurely wear down blade) 2. oil your blade immediately after drying (prevent rust)

1. Always dust off blade 00:17 2. Wash blade regularly (at least one a week) 00:45 3. After washing blade, apply blade lube 1:25 4. Apply blade disinfectant 1:40 5. Apply drop of blade oil to ball bearing (at least once a month) 2:08 6. Keep vents clear (always) 3:02 7. Replace carbon brush (when necessary) 3:42 8. Replace gear lube (every 6 months) 7:05

BE AWARE!! I just purchased a used one but I wasn’t aware how much maintenance this clipper required and has to purchased a grease separately which were hard to get and expensive, will also need to find & purchase new coil soon, if I knew it was this much hassle then would of brought cordless version which you just need to oil blade and charge battery.

Excellent instructional. I would suggest that when a demonstration is given, that the video should zoom in close to the clipper (accepting that this video is from 2013, limited to 360p resolution). Example: Timestamp 7:33 is not zoomed in enough to adequately see what the gentleman is doing.
