Ahhhhhahahahaha! Lol, well Gabby, this is actually the last episode in my series on clippers and cutting hair! You made it! I think I have laid out through the course of these reviews, hair and beard cutting tutorials a good outline to help people start trying this for themselves at home! Each video I tried to go into depth on the product, and since I have owned them for a good while, I can really give some in depth feedback. I talk about travel because I like to take my clippers with me when I travel. But if you have no intentions of taking clippers when you travel then getting this one is more than enough, economical and works fantastic! So trying to give all possible perspectives and thoughts! Hope you enjoyed the series and maybe you might be the next home barber in the family! :D

Hey there! Yes I try my best to give the in depth info so you can make an informed decision as a purchaser. I have had these clippers for years and you can do professional barber haircuts with this and way more economical price wise too. To still get it for under 80 dollars in 2024 is fantastic! My best fades are done with this clipper! Do come back and let me know how you find them once you use them!

Thanks Kranti! Lol, I think a professional barber... should know more than I do... but I do have a fairly in depth knowledge of the product due to using it for so long! I do my best to give quality haircuts, and I do it for the love of doing it, so to me it's like an art project each time I cut hair. I have fun and enjoy the process! Kaygee79 when it comes to good friends, it’s not about what’s your favourite. It’s about being a part of whatever they do. My support & love will always be there for your family Kaygee. It’s rare to find genuine people these times. And yes, I do my own haircuts too but with scissors but I have still not reached your proficiency. My hairline is receding drastically hence the cuts don’t look as good as they used to earlier.

From a fashion perspective, sure, great colour! But they also work great too ;) PS why are you spelling the word colour like an American? Don't sell out your British roots! Lol, I'm Canadian so I'm always going to spell it with a U inside! I'm glad you're learning about clippers. This pretty much is the end of this mini series but I think I have summed the the various corded and cordless clipper options and given demos on cutting hair and designing beards, so I've covered it all! There will always be newer clippers and probably cordless ones with longer battery life etc but at least you know what I use and that they work well for me. So these are a great place to start! And I'm always around if you have any additional questions! You can become your Hubby's barber if you want! ;)

VERY nice review / presentation of this model. I actually have what is essentially the Oster 113 (dog clippers) but it is basically the same model as this fast feed though without the quick adjust lever. I was lucky to get this pivot model clipper for all of $3 at an estate sale -- needed some cleaning but it works beautifully. Have not tried it yet on my own hair but I've seen videos of people using animal type clippers on human hair and it certainly can be done.
@Kaygee79

This pivot motor style of clipper is very reliable and solid for cutting hair! I'm not familiar with dog clippers but a hair clipper should be a hair clipper so I would assume you're right and it can be done! Appreciate that you came by and enjoyed the review on the fast feeds and took the time to leave an in depth comment like this! It's always great to get multiple points of views and now I'm interested to research dog clippers and know more! :D Much love and hopefully you stick around and watch more videos in the future! :)

Great review! What are your thoughts on these vs the whal elite pros for self home cutting and mostly doing a 1 with some tapers?
@Kaygee79
@Kaygee79 2 жыл бұрын
Hey there, thanks for watching and for your question. I personally do not own the Wahl Elite Pro so I can't tell you a true comparison. What I can see from online is that the Wahl elite pros are cheaper in price and come with a full set of guards and scissors etc. So you get more bang for your buck in that sense. But it looks like that clipper is designed for home hair cutting. The Oster Fast Feed is designed for a barber to use. So I would assume the cutting quality will not be as good as the fast feeds. I could be wrong but usually home design clippers are not as good. Secondly the Fast Feed for me is my go to clipper when I want to give my self the most blended fade. It is precise but also a bit forgiving at the same time so you won't screw up a fade easily, especially if you're just starting out. And my last thought is that some of the home style hair clippers heat up a lot faster and the fast feed clippers stay cool for a long time with the pivot motor so if I was to make an educated guess that Wahl would heat up much sooner than the fast feed. If I was in your shoes I'd still go with the fast feed because it is meant for heavy duty use and this one purchase will last you a lifetime if you take care of the clipper. Doing 1 with taper will be luxurious with this clipper you know you will have a trustworthy clipper for that purpose. Honestly though, after you give yourself a few haircuts you'll have saved so much money that you could easily buy both clippers from all that saved money and experiment with both! Hope that helps! Cheers!

Hey there, thanks for watching and for your question. So I live in Toronto and I bought the guard from Toronto Barber and Beauty Supply but they should also sell it at Sally Beauty stores as well. It's hard to find the #1 guard by itself. They usually sell them in packages of 6 guards or 8 guards but even the full set shouldn't run you more than 10 dollars give or take. I know they sell the 8 set on Amazon for around 10 bucks so if you want to buy online you can just go there! Hope that helps!

@Kaygee79
@Kaygee79 3 жыл бұрын
I guess it depends what you want it for? If you're cutting a lot of people's hair then you might want it as an extra clipper. If it is for personal use then what you have is more than enough! The one thing that makes this clipper extra special is that it never really gets too hot so if you're cutting for a long time there is no issues with that. I am not sure how hot the andis clippers get after long use. Really it comes down to why you want more clippers! Thanks for watching and for your comment! Cheers! :)

@Kaygee79
@Kaygee79 3 жыл бұрын
I've never had to tune up my Fast Feed. It's always worked well so this is not an area of expertise for me. You might need to search another video from a Barber Channel. Many Barbers like messing around with the clippers and modifying them for optimal use. Because I cut my own hair and my fathers hair mostly, the current settings work great for me hence why I've never tried to modify it. I have no issues with power or cutting power. The pivot motor makes cutting a breeze!

Best clipper is Kemei 1986. It is cordless, cost about half the Oster Fast Feed, and better. I still have the Fast Feed, and was looking for other people experiences, but I have had the Kemei for a week and they take first place. Overall, this is a really good review you did.
@Kaygee79
@Kaygee79 3 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for your comment. I went and looked up a few reviews on the Kemei 1986 after you left it on this comment. They look great. Looks like a Chinese company version of my Cordless Wahl Seniors! And for a lot cheaper. Mind you when I got my cordless Wahl Seniors they were something fairly new on the market at the time for barbershop quality cordless clippers. Now there are a lot more choices coming around which is amazing. I don't plan to get another cordless until my Seniors die out but so far they are going strong. I've had them since 2018 and the battery is still good. And I have a feeling these fast feeds will outlast everything so this is my throughbred clipper or go to clipper in my set! If/when I am in the market again for another clipper I'll have to re-visit these! Thanks for the knowledge on that one and glad you enjoyed my review! Much Love!

@Leonard Corey, I order a ceramic stagger toothed cutting blade too. My blade just came today. The 1986 is already very good, but this stagger blade takes it to a whole nother level. The clipper is basically a Wahl, in my opinion. The best wahl blade combination of all time is the Wedge outside blade, and a stagger toothed cutting blade. Ceramic makes it a lot quieter too.

@@Kaygee79 I had my Seniors for 6 years before they died. My Oster Fast Feed were brand new when I got them from a Goodwill for $4.00. I was hesitant, because I had not used Oster since I first saved up lunch money to buy a Walmart pair, 30 years ago. It was either those or Conair, until I graduated from the Walmart clipper. I can honestly say, the Fast Feed are awesome, but the Kemei 1986, being cordless, built well, and a lot cheaper; will convert a lot of people on the market for a new clipper. When you get a pair, throw a ceramic stagger toothed cutting blade on them. That is a wonderful cutting experience.

Great question! I have never changed the blade on this clipper. Still cutting with the original blade and it still cuts amazingly to this day! I do good maintenance on my blades, keep them oiled up and clean and they work smooth each and every time. This is made for heavy duty use multiple times a day for a barber and I cut with it once every few weeks so it's no surprise it has lasted me this long. It probably will keep going like this for many more years. It's not like the blades are starting to get dull or anything like that! Appreciate you taking the time to watch and leaving a question! It's interesting that you don't recommend zero gapping the clippers. Is there a particular reason other than the work involved to do so? Also it's convenient that those come with the guards. I had no choice but to purchase guards since my masters didn't come with any 😔
@Kaygee79
@Kaygee79 4 жыл бұрын
The work involved is the exact reason I say not to bother. I'll give you a link that shows you how to zero gap a Fast Feed and look at the dumbness involved with zero gapping it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aaCloWuOgc91ba8 Now I'll give you another link to a video on how to zero gap the Cordless Wahl Seniors: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWSYoJmorpWAd5o Look at the difference. The Wahl Seniors are designed to be easily zero gapped while Fast Feed is not. Also there are other videos on how to zero gap a Fast feed by changing the cutting blade to a ceramic blade of a slightly different size/model. Ceramic blades are also sharper and don't heat up as much. All that means to me is that this is professional barber talk and I don't need that crap in my life. I want something designed to do the job or else re-design your clipper to make it easy then I'll recommend it as a zero gap clipper. I don't recommend Oster Fast Feed as a zero gap clipper for this reason. Yes it can be done but it's more work than it's worth when other clippers are designed for this purpose. I don't know how easily your Masters zero gap but you can compare the two videos above and determine that for yourself! But since you're a man of details, you might enjoy zero gapping the Fast Feed lol! Thanks for letting me borrow your Andis guards and masters clipper to use in the video! Appreciate it! :)

Lol, well I've taken care of them and credit to the brands I've owned as well, they have held up the test of time. This is why I'm making these reviews to confirm my experience. The whole process in my mind when I originally bought them is that I want to get what a barber shop uses because if it is meant for heavy duty use, and I only use it occasionally, theoretically it should pretty much last forever. Or at least for many years. So after many years, I can say YES it sure has! :D

I heard you say it's not best for bald fades but it is bald fade capable?
@Kaygee79
@Kaygee79 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and for your comment. So the answer is Yes it is possible. But you would have to modify the blade and zero gap it in order to make it happen. Some hair clippers are designed to be zero gaped easily while others are more tricky. This one is a bit more tricky. You have to take the blade apart and adjust it a specific way to zero gap it. Alternatively there are people who buy a ceramic blade and switch it out with that to zero gap it. Read some of my other comments. People have their own suggestions on how to do it or just search other KZbin videos on how to zero gap a Oster Fast Feed. Once you set it to a zero gap, bald fade is capable with this clipper! By the way... Happy New Year! :)

@@Hopper830 There are a lot of good clippers. In this video when I do the sound test there are two other clippers, the Andis Masters which belongs to a friend of mine and the Wahl Cordless Seniors which is my zero gap clipper. There are more but I am only going to mention the one I actually own because I can say it is an excellent zero gap clipper. So the Wahl Cordless Senior is a great one but it is expensive. But if you buy the same clipper and it is not the cordless one it will be much more reasonable price. The Seniors are very easy to zero gap. It took me a few minutes to do it and that is how it should be. Who wants to mess around for a long time trying to figure it out!

Debating on this or the wahl senior 5 star
@Kaygee79
@Kaygee79 3 жыл бұрын
They are both great clippers! Since I have both I will say this. The 5 star senior is a very precise blade and blending with it there is little room for error. The fast feed is a bit more forgiving and I find that for blending and doing fades the fast feed is the best clipper for that. Now if you're into doing bald fades, the senior is much easier to zero gap for that purpose. So those are a few things to keep in mind. To this day, my best fades still come from using the fast feed. Because I own both I can always switch over to the senior if I need to use the zero gap but I never really go down to the zero gap so the fast feed for my uses works best. I'll leave it at that. Either one you buy, they are both awesome. You'll be happy with either one! :)

It will cut hair anywhere on your body. It is a mechanical clipper though so it needs to be used carefully. Any sensitive areas or where you might have loose skin etc I wouldn't advise to use in those areas, I can only imagine how painful that might be if it gets caught in the clipper blade!

@@MrJohnenea I would say these are better quality than a beard trimmer. This is a barber shop quality clipper so it can trim your beard better than a beard trimmer typically would. So u cannot zero gap these?
@Kaygee79
@Kaygee79 3 жыл бұрын
They can be zero gaped but not easily. You have to take the blade apart and modify it and then it will come close to a zero gap. Or you buy a cermaic cutting blade that is a bit bigger and switch it out, and that will also allow you to zero gap it. I left a link on my response to a comment left by Shawn which goes to a video that shows you how to zero gap a Oster Fast Feed. I don't consider this a zero gap clipper because there are other clippers such as my Wahl Senior that can easily be zero gaped. Therefore this clipper is not designed with that in mind. For me not worth the hassle. If I want a zero gap clipper, I would buy one that does it easily. If you really like this clipper and want to zero gap it, it can be done! So all options are there.

Kaygee79 Thank u so much for your reply!! So, what I am looking for is a very good clipper that will allow me to keep my beard lined/tapered up very crisp and well. And my bears trimmed nicely. I would do something like the babyliss trimmer but it does not come with a guard for taking hair off my mustache etc. so I need a clipper that will zero well for lining up. Do you have any recommendations for a clipper that comes with guards and can zero good and easy and that will be good for beard lining up? Thank u so much for this help
@Kaygee79
@Kaygee79 3 жыл бұрын
@@a.d.c7941 Well I use a different machine for trimming and a Liner for lining up. My mini series here on my channel I show you demonstrations by trimming and lining up my beard as well as giving my dad a haircut. So for the hair clipper or for trimming, I already mentioned the Wahl Senior as a good clipper that also zero gaps easily. You can buy a corded one that is cheaper but I have a cordless one that is much more expensive. As for guards, most clippers when you buy them don't come with a full set of guards. So it's best to buy a full set of guards separately. As for lining up and shaping your beard I recommend the Andis T Outliner if you want a corded liner and if you're looking for a portable cordless one that is pretty good, then the Andis Slimline Pro Li Trimmer is good for that. If you want to use your hair clipper to do your line up then I guess you can just zero gap the Wahl Senior and try it that way. I don't own the babyliss trimmer so you would would have to research it a bit more outside. But similar idea, make sure it is easy to zero gap it and just buy the guards separately. Easiest way to get the job done. In the long run that money will come back to you by saving on going to a barber every time you need to get it trimmed etc.

I have another clipper that I zero gapped in a minute with a screwdriver and I use that one if I need a super close cut! People in general take it the wrong way when I say I don't recommend this as a zero gap clipper. I know it can be zero gaped but having to adjust it by getting a ceramic blade etc. means that to me that the base model was never made with the thought of zero gaping it as part of the clipper design. So this is just me critiquing the design in hopes that they modify it somehow one day to make it super easy like other clippers. But once again I say thanks for taking the time to respond and your comments to me! :)

@Kaygee79
@Kaygee79 3 жыл бұрын
BRO, I never said they can't be zero gapped. If you have to take apart the blade and readjust it the way it needs to be done or replace it with a different blade that means you need to modify it to make it a zero gap. Hence why I say they are not meant/designed for it. Barbers zero gap them all the time but I still don't recommend it for the average user as a zero gap clipper because of what is involved to do it. Easier to buy a clipper that zero gaps with ease. If fast feeds were meant to be zero gaped they would come designed ready for it to be done with ease.

No no they are not. They are zero gapped as an upgrade only. Most people do more cuts than just simple fades. If you are not licensed or trained and go to fade someone with a zero gapped clipper you will or can hurt them.
