Neat little trick I learned. If you dock with a derelict ship and you want to physically see how big it is, press N on your keyboard to bring up the menu to make a new zone. Move the window aside and pan around a bit and It'll show you the ships tiles. Doesn't reveal what's in those tiles so not really a spoiler, but it's a good way to see how big the ship is and potentially if you missed any rooms. Some of those busted doors can look very similar to walls. P.S. I'm glad I stumbled across your series. There's a lot to learn in this game and there's a lot of helpful commenters. Also learning things with you as you play.

32:05 If you want to keep your guy from repairing while on Autotask (like when you are doing quick installs) you can go into the Roster UI in your PDA and disable "Restore Parts". I'm really enjoying this series, good work!

Did you disconnect the transponder when you were adding to your ship? If so it counts as stolen. Edit: should have watched the whole video

For docking, anything under 40m/s won't injure you. But I'm like you, I like to come in around 15 m/s. I believe your energy is transferred to the position of the wreck as well, so if you are close to a body, it's possible to direct it into a collision course. Or so I've read.

The police sure tested this out for science and pushed me way off course. So aggressive. :)

Just noticed a few days back that you can kill the tutorials in your PDA. Under Goals there's a tab for settings. otherwise they seem to keep popping up for me even though I've already done them. (edit: Also if you don't have your license on you when you get scanned, like actually on you, you'll get fined. Found out the hard way)

Thank you so much. Both good to know as I was curious about the tutorial and also thought they would only case about the license when boarded. I need to make sure I use coms as well.

@@MontePlaysGames for sure. It's easy to miss if you get a message to undock for inspection when you're exploring a huge ship. The pda seems to have a limited range, so you won't get alerts if you're too far away. If they scan you and you're license isn't on you they'll ask to inspect and if you don't undock you get a warrant. Pretty wonky!
