Ostrava of Boletaria Questline - Demon's Souls Remake

I kinda feel sorry for Ostrava. Walking around wondering what’s happened to Boletaria on his quest to talk to his father the King only to find him seemingly defeated on the steps saying that the person who he confronted was not his father but a demon and had lost all hope, eventually dying. I was like “man I thought we were in this together and you died on me”.. NGL a part of me died with Ostrava.

I came here to listen to that first line. I knew it be changed to sound less demanding. Likely makes the character more likable for newcomers, but it also takes away from the idea that he, as a royal family member who I assume grew up pampered, expects you to do the work for him.

Ostrava is like the Solaire and Oscar of Demon's Souls combined, not just because Ostrava and Oscar both has Os as the beginning of their names, but because they both wear the 'posterboy' armor for their respective games, and like Solaire he is the most recurring companion to the player though most of the time in Ostrava's case he is in need of rescue, but something that all 3 of them have in common (minus Solaire since you can save him) is they all tragically bite the dust in some way, and what's even worse is Ostrava comes back as a black phantom before the battle with Allant, which is why i think Ostrava is the most tragic character in the whole game by far, i actually broke down slightly when i reached the end of Ostrava's storyline

Wait, does Ostrava die because he killed himself or cause of some sort of injury? After all, he did meet the False King, but all I see is ‘he killed himself’, even though there’s no animation to show him, yknow, stabbing himself or such else.

All the wiki pages say that he killed himself after realizing his father is a demon, but now that you say that, I think it makes more sense that he died after confronting the old king Allant. His dialogues sound like he would've joined you to defeat the boss. His bloody armor and him kneeling on the floor indicate that he is injured. 5:07 looks pretty defeated. But I guess it's up to your own interpretation.

I dnt understand why in the hell he isn't showing up in 1-4. I saved him every time he even said "thats the 3rd time you've saved me" and walked away and he is no where to be found. Dnt get it

I heard in the original, in the area (2nd zone maybe) with the dragon and the bridge roadways if you you died after talking to him but before you talked to him again (or something) , then his quest line was broken. I really don't know if its fixed, or if its really broken.

That was never a thing, however HE can die before that part if the NPCS kill him off screen.

@@SignOfTheTimes008 You get nothing but the Key to the mausoleum. You get his sword and shield if you kill his black phantom at the end. You get the Talisman of Beasts if you kill him after Mephistopheles tells you to.

Pretty sure it's too late. For instance, 1-3 event wouldn't make sense if the lever was already pulled.

@Eric i went back and saved him in 1-1 and 1-2 but he never shows up in 1-3, probably because I already beat the boss. Sucks for me cause I've got 2 quality weapons and no pure clearstone to finish the upgrade

@@xenoarchive4336 I asked because of 6:54. I'm playing it on the PS3 for the first time LOL, I killed the fat official from a distance and didn't open the gate right away, Ostrava never spawned behind the gate. Magic is too OP in this game

He doesn’t appear in the kings tower by the stairs, he supposed to give me a key and then he’ll die.

Check if he is on the beam in Nexus. If he is not, he died walking around.

@@xenoarchive4336 it’s so stupid because I rescued him in the beginning, and he gave me a telescope. Then I was supposed to rescue him again in 1 - 2 on the left side he was supposed to be behind the gate and he never appeared.

@@Shadow_2055 so he died in 1-1, you have to babysit him and clear out every enemy in the area he patrols. I made that mistake too. He is weak in 1-1, and there is a blue-eyed knight and a hoard of dregings he walks into. This is why players just kill him at the start to take the key.

It's the same stair Red Eye Knights died on. Walk up the stair, there is a passage on the left. I just skipped over parts where I looted the enemies.

@@HuntingHorn It is 1 - 3. The Tower Knight's Archstone is accessible once you killed at least one Archdemon. Halfway through 1 - 3, you will meet the second Fat Official and have a lever to pull for a shortcut. That is where it is.
