Probably from something unrelated, shot days or months before or after. Doubt the lion was even there judging how the scenery has a bit of a change to it. Just editing . They're not here to show true nature. They're here to sell advertisement. Showing a little drama is how they get the simpletons to keep watching.

@Statsy10 17 күн бұрын
@@The_HagseedThat was an unnecessarily rude comment. They are just trying to tell a compelling story, and yes it means doing some editing to enhance the video they captured on the day. They also don't always have that great audio, and have to do some Foley work.

Living in cities, man gulps his water unmindful of how every other creature meets it's need for water, searching for it before they die! BBC, kudos to all your team that have conjured up this beautiful video story, stooping low to be on level with the newborn baby ostriches. Thanks for this beautiful video with it's touching content.

An interesting fact about ostriches. A female ostrich will make a nest, and lay her eggs there. Then during the day, the male and female will shift sitting on the nest. So while the male is by the nest, other female ostriches will come by and lay their eggs in the nest. So this means that in a brood of chicks, many of them are half siblings, coming from different females but having the same father. Also a bonus fact. The female that made the nest is able to tell which eggs and chicks are her own, and which ones are from another female, meaning she takes better care of her own chicks and eggs

I used to raise baby ostriches in my back yard when I was young because my mother worked for Lion Country Safari out in California. I used to run backwards so my legs would emulate the legs of an adult ostrich and those large chicks would always follow me around. It was kind of funny to watch.

Ostrich females lay an average of 40-80 eggs a year but I don't know how many survive. Most ostrich eggs weigh about 4 1/2 lbs which would make a big omelet. I think the babies are so cute but when they get to be adults they can kick the you know what out of you.🐿

@_Smarf_

1. These watering holes are naturally occurring. No one "dug" them, other than time and nature. 2. The sands in the Kalahari desert are 200 feet deep. 3. The Kalahari desert is 360,000 square miles. It's sweet to want to help the baby birds. Hope my answer is helpful.
