Have you ever tried carrying someone and running?...It slows you down significantly, but these birds are carrying humans and running pretty damn fast. Those are some strong legs. I remember once as a kid I watched a mockumentary called Prehistoric Park. There's a scene in the first episode where the naturalist catches a struthiomimus (or a similar type of dinosaur) the same method used at 0:43.
