Hidden nerf does account for a large amount of the rank change, but they also did an innactive player purge at the same time. So most people actually gained ranking even if they lost PP (unless they lost a ton of PP)

4:26 talking about dt farmers got me thinking, you see I'm not totally a one-trick pony, I actually didn't get hit that hard by the nerf and got like 1k rank which pushed me closer to 3 digits, but this is something I've been wanting to do in a while and this change in meta is pushing me to do this. I've been wanting to get good at streams for years now, I trained a lot, played the 140-150-160 bpm stream practice hundreds of time and yet I'm not able to fc any of them or to keep 180 for more than 60 circles, I've just been wondering if all this time, maybe I should have just have switched to the hddt farmer meta, to actually fix my streams thanks to the +200 bpm bursts that I'll be forced to keep if I want to actually fc anything, and I'm glad this new meta is pushing me to actually do that, so thank you Xexxar for maybe fixing my streams.

Over-ranked DT farmer here, not very good at anything else just yet in the game. I should have lost ranks but went up 1k due to inactivity wipe but honestly I wouldn't have minded going back to 10k because of how over-ranked I currently am. The only thing that annoyed me at the start of the change was my only 300 play dropping down to a 299 but I laugh about that now so I don't really mind. The update as a whole is definitely a good idea and was needed. Thanks Verto for bringing this topic into discussion a couple months ago, they might not have gone through with this change without your video.

It seems like almost 20% of top 50k players were wiped out, cause I'm C tier and still got from 47k to 39k. I think this is a good change though, glad to see some of my less deserved plays go down the pp list, however it's still not really a major thing when you compare the numbers as a whole - max 5% less on the most overweighted maps.

oh wtf, I had no idea stream spacing was part of the speed value! Since adding DT to a map also increases the aim, I thought speed was simply how dense the notes are, and aim how hard it is to aim, which also takes into account the time between objects. That completely removes my one issue I had with this change. Other than that, it's a good change.

Pretty good video! But I think that the placement of C and B tiers is a bit misleading. It should be noted that you missed the fact that the bonus to aim from hidden actually increases depending on what the maps AR is. AR11 plays have a 1.02x aim bonus but AR9 has a 1.06x.

Yeah, I kind of focused on the upper tier farming, so the meta of 1-2-3 digits - Unless the AR is lower than the OD, the AR tweak is not really relevant at that level, since you would be adding either HR or DT, as low OD farm is not really optimal due to the lack of rhythm complexity in the algorithm. Also as I said, adding HR to some maps DOUBLES the speed pp due to the streams getting exponentially more spaced without actually increasing the raw speed. But yeah, I could have included the old map gods like WWW somewhere between A and S tier, since they benefit from both the spaced stream and the AR buff on hidden, but ultimately they just lack maps to be the real winners of this patch. It wasn't a very scientific video tbh, since I was going for the entertainment value this time :>

I admit i was a filthy HD spaced jumps farmer. But the HD nerf doesnt bother me at all, i can stream decently well and my consistancy is fine only difference now is that i now have to put actual effort into my plays now. I lost 200 raw pp and i deserved it clearly, having a lot of 20 second DTHD plays. So im actually glad that those changes were made because now i can focus on actual fun maps rather than looking on the pp that they award.

Although this HD change is really nothing when comparing it to the massive reduction in Mania lol. Losing 1700PP in Mania today was fun. If you play HD for around a week you'll notice that it makes no difference, your brain with automatically adjust to seeing the fading of the circle as substitution for the approach circle.

I think this is a good change. Why? Im not a professional HD player, but i could make ez pp with this mode. And guess what, not only me obviously. But, now HD has been changed. Only pro HD players deserve the PP bonus . And if you think a bit, this change cand make others want to improve hiddenstream and become the best hD player with a lot of HD high pp scores. So, i think this is a good update. I also hope that OSu will nerf the 1min DT maps with less than 500objects. Keep up the good work :D
