Dawg, It has taken 15 years to run out of the 4.2 billion scores. Humanity would likely go extinct before we even get close to the 64-bit integer limit. Hell, osu! might be a completely dead game in a few decades. Edit: Just did the calculations. If we submit around 300 million scores this year with a 10% increase in scores submitted every new year, it would take around 8.7 billion years to reach the 64-bit integer limit assuming we don't go extinct and the game is still alive. If anyone unironically thinks we can reach the 64-bit integer limit in our lifetime, they don't grasp the concept of how huge a quintillion is.

So if the score extends over 18,446,744,073,709,551,616, then the dev team just pretty much has to increase from 64-bit to 128-bit right?
@tiborn15592 жыл бұрын
Yep. Basically. The maximum of scores that can be stored, will extend to 340,282,366,920,938,463,463,374,607,431,768,211,455 for 128 bit. But before that we would have to run out of scores for 64 bit integers. Even if we were to assume, there are 1,000,000 scores set per second (which is most certainly way higher than the real amount of scores set per second), it would still take us 580,647 YEARS until we run out. I highly doubt that's ever going to happen
