You don't have to play 7k to get on the leaderboards. It's a lot easier to get to top 1,000 with pure 4k than it is 7k. 7k dominates the very top of the leaderboard yes, but in the mid range 500-10,000 it i will be a lot easier to get to these ranks with 4k only.

Knowing how to 4k is also very useful when you're only starting to learn how to play with 7k. I've played 4k for 6 months and I can do 3* maps,but recently I've started practicing 7k and at first it seemed very difficult,but it's only been 3 days and I'm already comfortable with 1,5-2* maps. I can read patters pretty decently and since I've played mania for 6 months my reading skills are alright,which really helps :v sooo..it's never too late to learn how to play with more keys,it's only gonna get easier

As an osu!std player I find my biggest weakness at the coordination (i hope that is the right word) of my right hand. I found an unfair advantage on speed of my left hand vs right so working on that. Great video!

it's not true, 4k - mostly aboud speed, 7k is mostly about pattering and reading. i barely could play 4.8* at 7k, but for 4k i can basicly play something around 3.7-4.1*

Those are great Tips ! If i could give one more tips, it would be to force yourself playing harder maps that are not in your comfort zone, and mostly force yourself to try hitting patterns you can't really read. And remember : No pain no gain

I agree but be careful, playing maps that are too hard for you too often can develop bad habits. I recommend putting on HT for maps that are way over your skill level.

Found out I play better with no music and just having the effect volume on. It helps me hear the tempo, without having the music throw me off. (Maybe it has something to do with me being in percussion class???)

Once you learn to press space bar with the thumb in 7k that's when the real fun starts tbh. Well probably later. I only really mained 7k when I got passed the 3 star wall. I'm still at the 3 star wall in 9/10k. :( But I'm at the 5 star wall in 7k close to completing Regular Dan 2. And at the 4 star wall in 4k. I recommend finding a friend that's around the same skill to act as a sort of rival. Me and my friend have been racing for completing Dan's or getting S ranks on maps. I think that has helped me improve the most. The constant wanting to win against my friend.

So im played 4k for 5 months and I could pass some 5* maps to A and after I watched this I regret start playing 4k. Then I started 7k and played it for nearly 3 months and passed some 6* maps in 7k. Then after not playing 4k for almost 3 months I played it, and suddenly I can pass 6* maps in 4k. Playing 7k is worth it. Try stop 4k and start 7k. I know it's hard, but worth it.

Well 7k train not only 4 fingers, but 7. So playing 7k is guaranteed to be good at anything below it. Unless you're trying to one hand 4k, that's a different story.

You need an expensive keyboard to be able to play 7k without issues because they have the anti-ghosting which makes you able to hit multiple keys at the same time cheaper keyboards will often don't work when you hit more than 5k at the same time.

True, but you have to be quite advanced at 7k to run into this problem. More than that, you can play around with the layout and figure out when more keys work. There are online sites which will show what keys you are pressing. I shifted default jkl keys to the right (l;') and that way I could press 6 keys at once out of 7 which is really good, considering I had a very cheap membrane. Another example: my friend included both 'shift' keys because this key is independent on the keyboard. In the other words, you don't have to buy anything in order at least to see if you're going to play 7k seriously or not, but it's a lot of fun.
