osu!lazer has a NEW SKIN?? (and a ton of other changes)

I was supposed to do this video before 2022 ended but oops. Time to check out how much osu!lazer has changed since my 2021 video. This time there is WAY too many things they've added to talk about in a reasonable length video. Gomen, I had to skip all the mapping updates :')

A few things while watching: - You can access options from the pause screen with ctrl+o (but i agree it needs to be more visible) - Making the hit error always shown is coming bery soon, probably next release (using the new skin layer system) - Song select difficulty sort fix is definitely coming - Online replay storage is implemented but temporarily disabled (pending anticheat) - The osu!catch catcher is supposed to have a character but we're not 100% on the art style we got commissioned yet. It's really bad atm though yeah. - Key binds at pause menu is a bit of a weird one because the "gameplay" key bindings are currently isolated to gameplay. But we'll make it work somehow. - Search bar is coming to mod select :D

there is a option toggle for background blur in song select in the settings. if you just type blur, its the first option. i turned that thing on just in case someone comes in my room and there is a huge breasted anime girl on screen

So when you press the replay button, the game tries to fetch a replay file from wherever globally available replays are stored, but when you do the same on local leaderboard, the game automatically scans your replay folder locally for the replay. But yeah, it's still weird

Strict Tracking is one of the best mods added to Lazer in my opinion. Slider ends count towards your combo, and don't show up on your score panel for that reason. And unlike what Totaku said, you don't miss the slider when you miss a slider tick, you miss the slider when you leave it for any reason. I like to follow my sliders, so for regular maps it isn't a problem, but my favorite maps to play have crazy sliders. Occasionally I'll make a playlist of all my favorite slider maps with ST forced on all of them just to see what other people do.

I've been playing lazer a lot more now since they made osu!standard mode playable on mobile (multi-touch) Also, yea, I don't understand the replays.
