I just prefer lazer way more. I already played lazer a decent amount before 2024, but when it finally awarded pp, I fully switched. I like the extra mods, updated UI, and it runs better for me. Or at least, it feels smoother. Like with slider head acc. I didn't like the way stable does it. It doesn't make sense to me that you could be completely off timed, yet still get the 100%. When I see a 100% acc play in lazer, I know they played perfectly. But when I see 100% in stable, I don't know if it was actually perfect. They could've messed up a slider or two, but the game still gives 100%. Overall, it just feels more accurate, and I like that. The only real thing I don't like about lazer is skinning, but they're working on that, so its fine.

I fully switched to lazer about... 4 months ago. The only reason I still keep stable on my computer is because as of right now, 1/24/25, you can't upload beatmaps on lazer. Once that's there, I have no reason to go back. Oh, also a few medals you still can't earn on lazer, but those aren't reason enough for me to switch back.

@cameron_mitchell1970 the uploading maps is also the exact reason I have stable as well. I think like 1-2 months ago they mentioned that in one of the official Lazer update videos. Maybe this year we'll finally get it :)

I made the switch to lazer about a year ago, it just feels so much better in every way when I'm playing, with the only downsides being the menus and song select that are still a bit clunky (they're good, but osu!stable was outright great in that regard), and a few little things. My biggest wish at this point is to get the rate adjustment to be ranked :D 0.05x increments would be nice, although I'd be fine with 0.1x too! Playing DT1.05x on a map I can FC fairly easily at NoMod feels so nice and refreshing! :D And gives individual maps/songs a much longer time for "relevance" and enjoyability since they can scale with My improving skill now!! Slideracc is My favourite part of osu!lazer I think ❤ That alone is keeping Me off stable forever at this point!

i'm a casual player, but lazer just feels so modern in comparisson. and you can download beatmaps without having to use a browser window, which is really nice! here's hoping they can make all the little adjustments needed to fully replace stable, soon.

oyea just wanna point some other stuff out scorev2 (the scoring system used in tournaments) also has slider head acc, but sliderbreaks give you a 50 instead of a 100 there which makes it closer to stable than lazer lazer scoring, one could say scorev3 is different to scorev2 where it is WAY more acc focused than stable v2 is (especially with missing in the middle w/ high acc, which would lead to 600k scorev2, hence what the commentators call scorecapped, whereas with lazer scorev3 that could be 800k score)

lazer has OpenTabletDriver built-in, so if you're using your tablet's stock driver with a stabilization filter than cannot be disabled, lazer will automatically disable it, offering lower input latency.

1:20 Lazer doesn't use V2, it's more V3. 2:53 I don't think skins have anything different. Color differences are probably "combo normalization" setting. Just set it to 0% and skins will be identical.

I wanna say this right now, I play on a laptop that used to be much better before some water droplets seeped into it. Even now lazer not only runs better but feels better. Idk I just believe lazer is just superior, especially for getting better at accuracy with DA which let's you change OD. I've been learning OD 10.5 and I've gotten much better. Lazer is simply better imo.

Hi! Another factor is that note lock has been reduced in lazer. It's especially noticeable in steeam maps where, if You aim one circle too far, it would "lock" that note and prevent You from hitting it (the circle would have a shaking animation instead) and that very often snowballed into the entire stream notelocking, leading You to have a bunch of misses in a row and dying right there osu!lazer has made stream maps so much easier to practice for Me for that exact reason. I never use NoFail anymore since, by the time I actually fail on a stream map, it's because I legitimately have no business practicing that map, not because I made one mistake that snowballed into a failed attempt!

@@szymonguzowski5374 not exactly, each has their own benefits. If you’re a person that sliderbreaks alot or cant acc sliders, stable can offer you more pp. But if you’re more consistet with sliders, lazer may offer you even more pp. Just play what you’re more comfortable with

Most issues delay issues are usually related to settings, you can try out the renderer settings and make sure you have the best one for your pc, for me lazer doesn't run well on the default settings Also, most ppl say lazer feels different from stable in some ways, usually ppl that play stable say lazer feels worse and ppl that play lazer say that stable feels worse, maybe that's just the feel.

it could be settings like "high precision mouse" or "tablet" that are messing with your mouse inputs, if you play on tablet turn off both of those settings and try again
