So Seth's entrance requires a bit of explanation. My family is from Philly and those are the Mummers. They appear in parades and public events. The practice of mumming is a very old Germanic tradition that's similar to wassailing as it's really just a way to spread cheer by dancing and singing and wearing fun outfits together. The tradition came on the boats from Europe to the US and in the Dutch German Pennsylvania communities, groups of Mummers started to band together for holidays. Now there's an annual Mummer's Parade and they appear in all the famous Philly parades. It's just for fun, and the definition of festive.

@merlotpapi49303 ай бұрын
@@sukibhamra5086 It really wasn't forced. Drew cost Punk his opportunity to fight Seth by kayfabe putting him in rehab, now Punk cost Drew his moment. Both of those guys knew the Night 2 match was going to be super free given that Seth was put together with duct tape and string and he just had a match where he (kayfabe) tried to take most of the beating to be Cody's shield. Plus his mind is definitely not on this match, everyone knew the title will change but who exactly will walk out of Philly with the belt. I think it was perfect. Damian was the last thing on Drew's mind because he was preoccupied with the belt, his "Wrestlemania moment", and rubbing it in Punk's face. Completely ignored that he's the most vulnerable right after the match and with Punk within earshot to capitalize. It makes Damian look smart af for timing everything just right, it gave a new dimension to the Punk/Drew feud, and it allowed Seth to take a clean loss without it actually hurting him physically or booking wise. Also that was the most gorgeous South of Heaven I've ever seen Damian do.

In 2016-17, as it was clear that she was going to E, she turned on her long term partner Mayu Iwatani, formed heel group Queen's Quest, and pretty much crowned Mayu as the new Ace of Stardom in Summer that year...but Toni Storm hurt Iyo's neck earlier in the year and WWE decided to sign her the following year. So for 2017-2018, she won stardom's secondary belt, Wonder of Stardom, and put over her protege Momo Watanabe right as she was properly signed to WWE. One of her final acts was to also introduce Utami Hayashishita to the company. So yeah, Iyo does the job at the right time. I admire that about her.

Even if it wasn’t perfect, I’ve rarely had more fun watching a night of wrestling. Whole weekend was a blast but hot damn the opening and closing matches Sunday night will be seared into my brain forever.

Overall two very fun good reviews and I am glad you covered this year's Mania. I got just a few small nitpicks. 1.In the interest of fairness I wish you talked about the CM Punk MMA hour interview. The last OSW AEW reviews you guys are understandably anti-Punk and he never does interviews so I think it would have been fair to present his side of the story of his fallout with AEW and then yall can opinionate on it and let the audience make their own conclusions on the CM Punk OSW mini-arc. 2. I wish there was more expansive deep dive on the main event of Night 2, like a how we got here. Too me it felt brushed over like your assuming the audience knows all the Cody Rhodes lore and his run as Stardust to founding AEW to leaving AEW and then how we got here. Just felt like we could have spent a little more time dissecting the build before the match. Also never discussing Cody wrestling in Hell in the Cell with a torn pec is the equivalent of never talking about the Austin 3:16 promo when discussing Stone Cold. Both events catapulting them into babyface stratopheres. 3. To piggyback on the last point, the lore of the Bayley vs Iyo match was way more expansive then just, Japanese girls being mean to Bayley. IMO it was the second best build outside of the Bloodline. This goes back to how dastardly Bayley used to be when her and Sasha kayfabe retired Kairi Sane. Then she forms Damage Control which is meant to keep Bayley at the top but eventually Iyo realizes Bayley has been holding her back and there was long term tension and it wasn't until Kairi Sane came back to poison Iyo's friendship with Bayley. I just felt like a lot of the review felt kinda rushed when normally older OSW reviews are very detailed and introspective. It was even played off as a joke when the Bobby Lashley and Kross match was 30 seconds of commentary and move on. Despite it all thank you for all the good work that you and the crew do and I look forward to Elden Ring OSW.

Appreciate the detailed feedback brother! Just to answer ya - we didn't cover much of Punk as I find him to be extremely obnoxious, and the general discussion around AEW/Punk to be so very abrasive and off-putting. By the time we finished the AEW videos we were done talking about him (and AEW PPVs) for a good while. Him getting injured before Mania was very much an "eh we can deal with him next time we cover WWE then". Cody/Iyo build-up, it's a fair point. I wasn't as taken with Bayley's build as you were and Cody I felt Night 1 covered it. I suppose we could've done a full career history but I felt we hit the major points during the previous episode, the matches or in post-match. As a side note, the podcast was recorded 10 minutes after Night 1 was finished, so it's a bit of a test of endurance talking for almost 6 hours! XL was an impromptu gigantic project while producing 3 other major videos. I'll give ya all I got and I hope it's good enough :) Anyoo thanks for the discerning response brah!

@@OSWto your credit as well; I greatly enjoyed that we reached the main event at only 45 minutes into this review! The quicker pace for this review made it so fun to watch. The Punk interview wasn’t directly related to Wrestlemania so I fully support eschewing it in order to keep the review rolling. You guys went into great detail on Cody’s story after the main event review as well. Great job

Glad someone mentioned that Cena’s look is simply ridiculous at this stage in his life wearing that gear. I honestly think he looks like a cartoon character infront of all the other wrestlers who’ve got cooler looks.

1:19:00 lol, Ospreay has been wrestling on screen for a decade. Just because half the WWE roster is in their 40s doesn't mean Will is necessarily "early in his career."

I think it’s hilarious he got so up in his feelings regarding HHH’s remarks about the “grind”. HHH didn’t even a MENTION Will or allude to him in any way, but he acts like HHH insulted his mother or something. 😂

Im dying laughing at this episode already. Shame you don't think Priest cashing in was good Jay, personally thought it made the most sense and i even had him down to cash in even if Seth retained as the last person to cash in at Mania was Seth back in 2015.

17:03 Honestly one of my favorite moments in wrestling ever. Felt like this was a moment where someone flew too close to the sun and almost but DIDN’T get burnt. Felt like a hungry hyena going after the tired lion while the pack watched.

Why is there only 2 songs EVER commonly played on bagpipes? All you ever hear is whatever that song is that Drew came out to and Amazing Grace. At least in America anyway. Is it like this elsewhere that bagpipes are played.

I agree with the idea that Bayley has been miscast for the past few years - she was an ok heel, but she's one of the best pure babyfaces out there, up with Sami Zayn. Bayley is like the female version of Sting to me.

Not a single person in the crowd was waiting for Taker. Everyone was talking about Austin. I'm not saying Austin wouldn't have been better, but that pop after the gong says more than I could
