I have two airbrushes, one is single action only, the other was double action, but I managed to make it work in single (forget how I did it, lol). Both continue to let air stream out when I take my finger off the trigger, which is good for some quick drying. Would this one do the same when used with a small three-mode compressor?

Yes, if you swap in the single-action air valve then air would continue to flow without touching the trigger.
