My assumption is that Vita was technically curing them by absorbing the bad mana throught its offshoots so when it got killed, the mana that was absorbed suddenly got released and thus making the superds sick. The disease is still demon king vita amd what they are essentially doing to cure it is purging the mana rich corpse of it.

Listening Vol 23 Chapter 3-4 right now comrades. At work. Andrew's comments and observations adds a LOT to the story, I missed it. While I catch up let me ask something... Random thought, which music and albums you have "associated" with Mushoku? Sometime a music remembers you off a story, or a story remember you off a music. For me is Susumu Hirasawa. Around the time I was reading that volume with the big twist I remembered that I had never stopped to properly listen to Susumu's music, so I got the albums and started to listen. I listened to them while reading all those parts about the diary and Orsted explanations. From Sim City: Archetype Engine reminds me of Sylphie's automaton, only with her explosive rage as the only aspect of her personality. ("With an android bullet’s gaze, this morning she crossed the Andaman Sea HER WILL HARBORS A MOTHER'S NATURE" and "With a passion that scorches iron, how lovely appears her praying form ALL THE SLEEPING CHILDREN pine away from love" Imagine, Android Sylphie protecting the family) Caravan and Colony reminds me the travels around Begaritt with Elinalise (some of the best parts of this whole story). Shadow of The Moon and Ecoes reminds me of Laplace/Dragon God struggle, the sadness of his dying and reincarnating. ("Infinite Infinite The tales that reflect you Eternal Eternal Within this room where you live alone Leaving only your words behind to those who come and go, you drift away drift away") ("I feel I’ve seen these sparks raining down before Burning, they tell me to recall the day the city vanished When did I descend the hill with you whom I’ve never seen before?") So sad... From Technique of Relief: Of course Garderner King reminds me of Perugius. ("With a single swing you sound out the source of the rain, and with two swings you learn the anger of the sea With blessings thrice you find lodgings in this world, and with magic’s aid you fence in the four winds "c etc etc, just imagine Sylvaril singing Perugius praises. Personally I think Perugius is A LOSER, but that's a discussion for another day) The Man from Narcissus Space reminds that Lara is "the savior". ("This morning, on a chariot of rushing wind, she arrived in this world The goddess of vengeance The goddess of vengeance Ah, did you gaze upon her? and This life consumed by the flames of fate Ah, along the roadside Ah, along the roadside It was there that it met its end" Just imagine Lara eventually reaching the Man-God.) Some music are less specific, but still carry that "feeling" of Laplace/Technique God/Dragon God return, like Bridge Builder. Makes me think of all the work Rudeus and his corporation is making "waiting" for Laplace's return. I wish that when the day comes they'll not need to harm him.

I disagree a bit with Andrew about Orsted and efficiency. I think he didn't told about the Superd because he knew Rudeus would suffer. If the Man-God hadn't used the Superd Village as the place of the battle Rudeus would never found what happened with the Superd and Ruijerd. About the Man-God plans, I don't think he planned the disease, I believe he only knew it would happened and the Superd Village would die, but Ruijerd on the Demon Continent would be later recruited by Orsted. Knowing the love Ruijerd had for Children the Man-God used Rudeus and Eris to move Ruijerd, make him reach the Central Continent and search for the Superd. There would be a chance that he would also get sick and die, in another win against Orsted.

Interesting tag for this episode making sound that some people are angry with Orestad and give him a piece of their mind😂. Probably Rudy's wife chewing him out for not warning Rudy about Vito. I don't see Rudy doing it. 🤔 It will be interesting to see how Rudy tries to find a cure the Supareds. 😊

By this time I had given up on Rudeus and Rifujin's writing of Rudeus. Why did Rudeus became so rude with everyone? It's unbearable to listen to his thoughts and actions, he gets worse with each chapter. I have to thoughts about this chapter. First, the disease, I don't understand why the Superd got sick. Why after all this time they got poisoned by the food? Why even Ruijerd, having spend so little time there? Don't make sense to me... not the causes, that this outbreak happened now. The other thing is, Cliff if he wants to improve the relationship of the Church with Demons, he could use the Superds. He could exploit Rudeus effort to wash clean Ruijerd reputation. Their story could be used as an example that there are no bad people/races, only bad actions. The Superd committed bad actions, but they realized they were bad by themselves, repented, and are working ever since for redemption. They could be used as propaganda by the Church as an example that anyone can repent and convert.

I have to say, I’m going to need to take a break from the readings for the next week or two due to all the mental energy I’ve spent on cliffhangers, especially with Re:Zero and Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? I do have to ask, though: are you purposely ignoring the signs of where Norn’s story is heading? I personally avoid reading your comment section for the same reason you do-I don’t want any spoilers-but this particular issue feels too obvious to ignore. I’ll leave it at that, though, as I don’t want to influence you in any particular direction.
