If a stranger hands you a package in an airport, you probably should not just hang on to it. 😉 But yes, Dreamcatcher have a very unique sound for Kpop. I am a metalhead, and you would normally not find me listening to anything with pop in it, but these girls are special. And they have a great message as well: Scream and Boca are part 1 and 2 of the Dystopia trilogy, which deals with bullying and hate comments, in particular the online variant ("freak behind the mask" from Scream). Boca has the line "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" (mouth) in the lyrics. And the music is absolutely awesome!

Thanks for checking DC out. They belong to a small company and their music is produced mainly by 2 guys - Leez and Ollounder. In DYSTOPIA, the main theme is centered around the effect of hateful words (comments) and internet anonymity. Their sound is a hidden gem (and they're often shunted out the door) because their home country doesn't really like this style so groups like these don't get as much promotion as other "mainstream" sounding groups. If you're into great mix, visuals and rock instrumentals, then DC will likely be in your playlist. :) Do check out Break The Wall, Endless Night and Deja Vu next :) They're your palatte.

Not to be that guy but rock and roll is a pretty blues/jazz inspired genre and kind of refers to the period of pre-rock music from the 1950's. Not really something I'd associate with Dreamcatcher, I'd just refer to it as rock/metal.

Don't feel bad about not understanding the storyline, it's incredibly vague and esoteric, intentionally so IMO. the easiest way to describe dreamcatcher is different and versatile,... their title tracks are always hardhitting... be it rock edm metal combined with the pop core their b-sides are literally everything else,.. jazz.. funk... trance... reggae... and so on and so forth... and even mixed genres that you normally wouldnt think of putting together but somehow work. you never know what you get when you listen to dreamcatrcher you only know it will be epic

thanks for checking out dreamcatcher! underdog group from a small company producing great music that sounds nothing like anything in kpop or even anywhere. they mash different genres together generally built around rock/metal so none of there songs sound the same. I see you put in a lot of info so I think you already did some research. their mvs usually have some story and the dystopia series is about combating internet hate. aside from the visuals, their vocals are very good although sometimes it's hard to tell in the type of title tracks they produce. if you are into watching choreo, there choreos are also top notch :)

I really recommend going back to the beginning. Nightmare story arc: 1 Chase Me (debut) 2 Good Night 3 Fly High (the MV is actually the prequel the the storyline so you can either watch it first or 3rd doesn’t matter) 4 You & I 5 What 6 Piri (this the official ending to the arc) 6.5 Breaking Out (this is a Japanese release and an alternate ending to the arc) Stand alone stories: Deja Vu R.o.s.e Blue (both of these songs are in collaboration with video game companies as their osts) And Endless Night (their heaviest rocky metal sound to date) They also have tons of b-sides where they explore different sounds and a lot of them of special MVs attaches to them. You're right on one thing. THEY ARE UNIQUE in the music they produce... They literally went completely off from the norm in KPop, specially when it comes to girl groups (either the cutesy concept or the girl crush that is the standard image for them) heir company really took them and reformed them according to what the members actually liked and we're more comfortable in doing, and the outcome is DREAMCATCHER!! They're mostly rock based, with a few exceptions in which they vary in their b-sides to a more jazz sound (which I REALLY recommend you listen to.. it's SOO GOOD). ALSO THEIR MV'S so far since debut are divided in to arks, as some have already explained to you. The 'Nightmare' series and as of right now the "Dystopia" trilogy. They have a lore is is amazing, and adds to their specialness as a Group... ALSO, ONE THING I REALLY SUGGEST WHEN WATCHING ANYTHING DREAMCATCHER... IS ... PAY ATTENTION TO THE LIRYCS/SUBTITLES. It explains what goes on in The videos.. And the message they're trying to convey. Which I have to point out, one thing that makes them stand out is the meaningfulness of their songs .. not only dealing with important society issues, but also their 'self worth, self love message' they give us. ALSO .. THEY'RE INSANELY TALENTED MUSIC/DANCE WISE, Incredible Vocals, and one of the most Synchronized, with very sharp strong dance and choreos. Even if it's in your own free time I recommend you check their work, the b-sides are as good, if not (at least some) better than the title tracks. And their other MV's are Literally WORKS OF ART! 'DEJA VU' in my opinion is one of not the Most BEAUTIFUL, Aesthetically pleasing, well crafted music video. I've talked enough (sorry for the testament), thanks for reacting to them... They're the first K-pop group to fuse rock and pop, but there is a Japanese group called BabyMetal that has been doing it to an even heavier extreme for a good while longer. BabyMetal has performed with Rob Halford of Judas Priest and had DragonForce help write song for them.

Thank you for reacting to them! Glad u like it :) the fact is, 'Boca' is not their 'extreme' song. i recommended Deja Vu, since that song stand alone(not part of Nightmare arc or Dystopia world), and Deja Vu not their hardest song, but i'm sure u will like it

Dreamcatcher’s music is really unique. I would like to recommend their song “Deja vu”. Also I would like to recommend “Lion” and “Oh my god” by (G) I-dle. It’s probably a little obvious that it’s kpop (and if it wasn’t then you never read that) but I’m sure you still won’t be able to predict what it’ll sound like

They always have high quality production. Just the other day they released a dance performance video of Boca which was halloween themed and they went out and got the stylists and makeup artists from on of the biggest KDramas on Netflix, Kingdom, a period horror thriller.

Welcome to the best and most distinct group in all of K-pop, my dude. Literally nobody does it like Dreamcatcher. Leez and Ollounder are their composers, and they've created a truly unique hard rock fusion that you simply won't find anywhere else. As for the MV meaning, Scream is about someone who is continually subjected to anonymous hate online and eventually turns to spreading further hate as a result. That's why the lyrics turn from "please, I don't want to scream" to "I just want to make you scream" at the end. Boca is a followup, told by from the perspective of someone else who wants to protect the victims of cyberbullying by shutting up their tormentors. The line "too many angels dying now" is a direct callout to the idols who have committed suicide in the last couple years due to all the hate comments they got from faceless cowards on the internet. It's a powerful statement that isn't finished yet. We'll see how they conclude it with part 3 in their next comeback.

Scream is the first start of the new series called dystopia. Scream tells us how once people forgot to say good thing the fruit became black and produce bad words. Scream also tell us that haters throw online hate to innocent celebrities or people while hiding behind their mask (which is why Gahyeon for her second rap hold a mask). Also scream is tied to witch hunt like the Salem which is why the members point at Gahyeon while circling her ans Gahyeon make a devil sign. Therefore from the beginning they say " i don't want to scream" but after they can't take it anymore it became "i just want to make you scream". Then Boca is the continuation of it. In Boca they became a goddess or warrior to protect us and fight for us from haters and bad words. Boca mean mouth in Spanish and other languages. Boca tell us to follow Dreamcatcher so they can shut the mouth of the haters and lock the door. The girls are goddess in those dresses... Because Gahyeon bled gold tears which is what the ancient goddesses do.
