Longtime Knicks fan here, I love the look of this guy, unfortunately he got drafted by a Rookie Hating Coach, he will be a G leaguer for the Knicks, I will be AMAZED if Thibs give him 20 minutes of playtime THE ENTIRE SEASON. Lets be real he will get NO playtime ...

@@marcjay077 With what Champagne Popdat said, Jean Montero is a project while the Knicks figure out the right starting PG. Keels they drafted as well but he's a two guard. SG and PG. I'm Dominican 🇩🇴 and I'm happy Montero is getting a chance to play in the NBA after going for the draft this year. Chris Duarte got drafted last season for Pacers and he's Dominican too. NBA got 3 Dominican players in the draft. Montero was one of the three but I have to learn about the other two. Montero has potential and he's 18. I'll be rooting for him but in a big market like NY, I don't know if he can play at a high level here where fans can cheer and boo you any moment. He's better off in a small market team. Less pressure for him to perform and play well compared to a big market team like the Knicks in NY. Great to see more Dominican players coming to NBA the last couple years outside of MLB. Al Horford is the best Dominican and veteran at the moment with success but he's a good NBA player nonetheless.

This kid looks interesting. Clearly he has work to do but at 18, there is enough there for a flyer. His handles seem tight, can go left or right, and seems to have good mechanics on his shot. Let's see what he looks like in the Summer League. A quick 6'3 18 yo PG is a good start. Welcome to the Knicks...rep the 🇩🇴 kid!
