I have a Microtech Ultratech. These look absolutely identical. To the point I wonder if it is. Rebranded and sold cheaper. I saw one of these disassembled and I swear it looked exactly like my Microtech. I'm looking for an OTF for my son and he struggles to acuate my Microtech. I have strong hands and I'll agree it's a bitch to do but I can do it. How is the action on these ?? There isn't many reviews on these.

They are nice knives for the money I Think, if you are looking to get into a decent OTF, I can't compare to a microtech because I do not have one, but the action to me seems very good, as for the blade very sharp, I only use it for cutting open boxes and minor items, it does what I need it to do for me.

I had a Microtech UTX 85 which I lost last year. I just handled the Krate OTF at my local gun store today. While the fit, finish and blade steel are a bit better on Microtech, the Krate is a very quality knife for the price. The Krate by far is much easier to deploy and retract compared to Microtech OTFs.

They didn't seem sharp at first but boy did I learn my lesson never ever test the blade sharpness with your index finger 😂😂😂😂😂

Bought one of the krate otf in kydex two days ago. Used it to cut the end off of 10 zip ties. Now, It won’t engage to hold the blade open. I can reset it and it will spring forward but it just doesn’t stay. Kinda disappointing cause I bought two.

Same thing happened to me. I had to take it apart and stretch out the spring on that side metal part to make the blade catch. Be careful though because the spring will jump out.

Very good knives its like a cheaper microtech I might buy the ghost one I got the carbon fiber one but the ghost one I might buy and actually use for cutting boxes or something 😂😂😂
