My family stayed at the Springhill Suites at Flamingo Crossings for years prior to the expansion and were very pleased with our stays there. We just stayed at the Homewood Suites at FC a few weeks ago (Dec 2021) and enjoyed our stay there, too. What is great is that it is in the opposite direction from where most people are driving after leaving the theme parks, so you get back to your room quickly. And you still sorta feel like you are on property.

Hi Leonard, I'm looking at potentially staying at this hotel (and or Townsuite side which I think is opposite), and just wanted to get a better understanding regarding transportation to the disney parks. Does the hotel provide a shuttle to the parks (not just MK) and do you know if this is free, or guests have to pay a fee? Secondly, I don't think Mears Connect (the new service from Orlando airport) takes guests to this hotel, so what alternative is there, or better phrased, what transportation did you take to get to this hotel? Many thanks for your time.
@ohboy25922 жыл бұрын
We live close to here and the traffic pattern is spot on. So easy to get out of the parks heading this direction. For now anyways, it will change with the growth going on in that area.
@lnewman242 жыл бұрын
@@adamkehoe7405 My family drove so I do not know for certain about transportation to and from the airport, but I have seen airport shuttles at the hotel. Same with transportation to the parks. I remember seeing a sign at the front desk with the theme park shuttle times, but do not know about costs and frequency. The front desks at both hotels were extremely helpful, so if you called the hotels directly they would be able to provide more information.

This is a great subject to cover! And I am so glad you came out and said it; that Disney is outpricing the average family. Flamingo Crossings has been my go to the last couple of visits. The Springhill Suites specifically. Both times at $79 per nite. The rooms here, and several of the hotels around the new collage program dorms, are great for families with more than 2 children. Dev, next time you do a video, consider showing just how close you are to the Welcome to Disney sign. It is only about 200 yards past 429 and Coronado Springs is at the end of Western Way. And maybe for a future video, you cover how some average families manage to squeeze in a WDW visit. WDW gift cards for Christmas and birthdays. I know myself, I made 10lbs of chicken salad, and for our lunch we brought sandwiches and chips etc. One year we had a group of 12, we brought a microwave to heat breakfast sandwiches. We brought cases of water etc. We also had to make a policy of no purchases from the parks or Disney Springs; we would always visit the character warehouses. Things like this made it the only way my late husband and I could afford this with 3 kids

You hit the nail on the head. I worked at a resort in Orlando and the number 1 thing I tell people is to rent a car. Most people are not going to the parks every day. So rent a car and go to the other parts of orlando like icon park, down town orlando, etc. Hell you can take a nice little drive up to tampa to enjoy the beaches, etc.

Car hire is way too expensive now. We come for 2-weeks from the U.K. it used to be about $500-600 for 14 days. It’s now $1400-1500 since the pandemic. If you add the difference, plus the car parking prices at the hotel & theme parks. It actually works out about the same as staying at Disney.

We ubered to HS bc we were in a hurry to get there and didn't want to take a chance on the shuttle running later than we needed. We did take the shuttle back. It was nicer than Disney shuttle and much faster bc you only share it with 2 other hotels that are all close together. They do charge for parking, but they provide 2 free drinks per stay and it is walking distance to Disney Springs. We did pay resort fees but it was way less than AllStars.

Have stayed at Homewood, Townplace, and Springhill several times each. Our favorite of the three is Homewood since we like their room layout but all are nice and have similar amenities. I disagree about renting a car since the price of a Lyft or Uber saves you the daily parking fee on top of the car rental, and with Target and Walgreens so close by to the Flamingo crossing hotels, there are quick, easy and reasonably priced options for a lot of snacks, drinks and medicines. Excited to hear their Starbucks opened and they have a bunch of restaurants listed on the properties by Target that will soon open too. 💖 to you and yours, PC Dev.
