Wow. I’m a type 7, and I’ve known about and been a fan of the Enneagram since 2018, and this is the best podcast I’ve ever heard about Type 7. It was so in-depth and thoughtful. Hearing about the connecting paths and how they BOTH can show up in healthy and unhealthy ways was so awesome. A simplified version of that conversation is something I’ve been thinking about a lot recently, but to hear it put so thoughtfully and beautifully was incredibly helpful. My desire to be capable and competent (which is pretty 5ish) really fuels my procrastination because it is so uncomfortable to be bad at something in order to get good at it. (Can you tell I also just watched your episode on procrastination? 😂) Anyway, I’m sure I will be returning to this podcast episode, but thank you so much for this work and for sharing it with us! It was so affirming and clarifying for me, and it really deepened my understanding of my type.

Even though I'm a year late with this thanks, it's still relevant and still matters because this video is what confirmed to me today that I'm a 100% a type 7 (reading the wounded message also confirmed it but that's another story). I have mistyped so many times, it's not funny but after having tried out each type for a while, everything Alli said totally resonated with me on a monumental level. Being more like a type 5 when she was a child with her encyclopedias, being more isolated and learning on her own; that was my childhood. My mother said I was so quiet as a child, she'd sneak in my room and see me playing by myself, lost in my imagination. I definitely favoured storytelling as I'd tell elaborate tales in response to the simplest of questions. The numbing out when suffering from burnout was also a moment where I was like, "Wow, that's what I do as well". And yeah, my family picks up on it quicker than my work buddies. I'm so grateful to this channel for not only having such great enneagram content (the EIP profile is a special treat) as well as having a gospel-centred perspective :) EDIT UPDATE: So, turns out, I'm a type 2 but I do have 7 in my tritype (2-7-1) so the stuff I said is still relevant :)
