This came out when I was 14 and really impacted me, especially the way they portrayed music in the future. I remember thinking that it was so unimaginative and dystopian in its simple tones but maybe they weren't far off! Also, I've been trying to find the name of this show for at least 5 years and I'm so happy to have finally found it with the right Google search today!

WOW! I saw this as a kid and loved it. I don't think it was ever released on VHS or DVD, and it's a real treat to find it here. The commercials are just as fun and interesting to watch as the show itself, and the show is brilliant and totally under-appreciated.

I remember watching this when it aired. I was 14 at the time. The concept of a parallel reality really captured my imagination. Yes, the series was PAINFULLY low budget...but the concepts were solid, the format was good (for the time), and it was something both new and original. I would LOVE for someone to dig this out of the vault and give it a proper reboot!

Glad to see this again here 37 years later on KZbin here! I loved this show as a child and was delighted to see it again on sci-fi channel back in 2000. This show has stuck in my mind since seeing this as a 12 year old child. I recall asking many people around about this show back in 1990s and they could not remember and when 2000 came, I saw this show again on sci-fi channel and was glad to to see it again! Especially after many not remembering this show! I am delighted to see that one can pull up this show on KZbin and I love how the old commercials were left in episodes to to add to nostalgia! I used to watch this on TV on a Saturday morning in the UK during the mid-80s and loved it; I was so disappointed when it stopped and I too could not remember what it was called; I am making a video about how this program (when you see the tins of meat in the shop saying "MEAT") gave me a false sense of how advertising worked, which later on got me into the business! 😃 Only now have I managed to find out what it was called and got to watch it again 35 years later! 😁

My friend (Steve Day) and I used to record these on our BetaMax VCRs, and when possible, edited out the ads live. Once in a while, we were stuck at work and rushed to my hous as soon as possible to see the current episode. As usual, when we got really invested in a show, it was canceled mid-season. I really miss the 1960s when almost every series filmed at least 24 episodes, and aired them all even if the show had been canceled. (Amazon & Netflix use a similar business model, but we couldn't bing-watch brand new series until after all original episodes had been aired..)

I've always had similar(ly nostalgia laden) feelings about _Spellbinder_ and _Thunderstone_ series, also _Sliders,_ heavily underrated in my opinion... and later, if to a smaller degree _seaQuest DSV,_ _Cleopatra 2525_ with its kitschy approach as well... and more recently developing similar feelings about newer ones as well, like _Primeval,_ and other, even more spacey or timey series... my go to formats _Odyssey 5,_ _4400,_ also _Sanctuary,_ _Warehouse 13..,_ etc. of course it goes without saying that series like _Farscape_ and _Firefly_ are essentially the all-acknowledged new classics...almost ubiquitous... maybe _The Expanse_ will acquire the same following with time.., or some of the other recent space-exploration-centered or based series... too bad Cloverfield and Valerian, Speed Racer and Ender's Game, didn't really capture people's imagination and attention as much as expected.., enough to start up a new era for the comeback of cult classic franchises and inspiring concepts/genres/themes.., even Aeon Flux, Alita: Battle Angel, Ghost in the Shell seem to have failed in the most crucial ways to retain cultural relevance, at least in the acknowledged awareness and continuance... ...still great works though

Then the Episode they became Famous Rock Stars by Playing Songs at the time as their own because no one from that Realm ever heard music like that before. Too bad this will never get a comeback or Updated. I did find a Link to all 8 Episodes.

Don't remember seeing this in the UK. Glad we never had cable back in the late 80s early 90s as what happened here is what they did on cable back in the day (my cousin had it). Opening credits then adverts!!!! Was an episode of The Simpsons. So went open credits, advert, first half, adverts, second half adverts, closing credits, adverts. Nuts.

Remember watching this show when it came out when I was 16. Also had the biggest crash ever on the daughter. When Americans were going crazy over the second British invasion. As an Englishman. I was crazy about everything American. With her long blonde hair she was like the All-American girl. Watching it again as a 51 year old. I probably fancy the mother more. O to get old.😁 Nothing else to do during lockdown😷, I think I'll crack on with the rest of series. And then I'll check out salvage one. A 1970s. Classic.

@@Tertbs .. I saw Salvage 1 ! My brother had it on tape and I used to steal his stuff. I was captivated by the idea of them using part of a cement mixer as the pressurized cabin of their ship.

Honestly huge credit to the person who posted those episodes. Shows like this are in danger of becoming lost media and if it was not for people like you, who recorded it back in the day and posted it on here, it might have very well ended up lost media.
