Had my appointment this morning 08/30/2024 with my audiologist and received by very first hearing aids. Oticon model ITC. They work fantastic! They also are working great with my Samsung android phone. Now my brain is having to reacquaint itself with not just the sound of correctly hearing human voices but also with the many ambient sounds all around me. It's kind of like bionic hearing though. I can turn up the hearing volume +4 on the Oticon app and I can clearly hear people talking and what they are saying, 75 feet down the hall at work in another room around the corner. 😐. I am very satisfied with my new Oticon hearing aids.

What is preventing Oticon from providing the Apple only features to Android? Are they trying to drive me to Phonak from my Oticon More 1's I have now?

I’m satisfied with the Oticon More 1, rechargeable. When I have an appointment at the VA, I stop at the audiologist and he checks that they are working correctly, cleans and changes the cone. The VA audiologist gave them to me a year ago and they are a game changer for me. He also calls me up and checks the settings remotely.

I got a Phonak Paradise Life 90. I love it. But man these others look exciting. What excites me the most is there's REAL COMPETITION NOW. This is good for all consumers! this means in 4-5 years these are going to become base, and the next level will be even better and better and better.

Your disclaimer says it all. No fixed price. Pretty much whatever they want to charge today. That's why the insurance companies shy away. Along with consumers that don't desperately need aids. Hence the low percentage of uptake.

@@DrCliffAuD O.K. read this as feedback from a 67 yo potential customer who is marketed to by many providers and has medicare advantage semi coverage. Being still reasonably lucid and discerning, my B.S. detector rings louder than tinnitus and I'm more comfortable with my hearing the way it is. Misconceptions or not, it's like the hourly offers for car warranties or the storm window pushers. By the way, this is not critical of you or your practice if you are forthright and honest. There is absolutely no way to know. Just the view from the other side. I'm tempted to do the advantage thing, at least BCBS rates them somehow.

I’ve been fitted with Oticon Engage (BTE) this week under our NHS health system in the UK (mild to moderate loss) and they’re pretty good. I can hand these back at any time; these are basically a free loan unit. I wanted to try these before spending on the more discrete IIC units privately and was looking at the Phonak Virto P90. I just wondered how you rate these Oticon IIC compared to the Phonak? Any feedback appreciated. P.S. I enjoy your videos but the intro music is getting a bit dated. 🙂

@Carl Chomko if you search for their Oticon Own order form online you will see which features you can get for which model. That doesn’t really surprise me, I think they leave it up to the audiologist to go over that with you. I see your point though, perhaps having a reference chart on the website would be helpful

Hi Enjoyed the review, thanks. I recently trialled the Oticon own ITC and found it very good in most aspects,However, when taking a call on bluetooth (IPhone 14) if I placed my phone in back pocket I could not hear the caller until I removed it and held the phone in front of me? I can stream audio no problem with phone in back pocket, your comments would be appreciated as I do like the aids. I was considering the Starkey evolv AI however your comment on "patchy" bluetooth scared me away lol.

Thank you so much for this - and all- your reviews. I am an Oticon Opn ITC wearer (cannot physically tolerate anything worn behind the ear for anything but a very short period) which are reaching the end of their life. Have trialled briefly other brands and Oticon More. Love the Oticon sound profile of More, so have been holding out for the release of these. Delighted they can cope with 100db, rather than 90db. Ultimately would prioritise quality of listening experience over connectability. Are the standard size and profile of the Bluetooth More ITC similar to the Opn ITC?

Question... First, thanks, Dr. Cliff; your videos are great! Now: my audiologist thinks I wouldn't like the Oticon Own ITC because it would make my voice sound muffled *to me*. He had me put my fingers in my ears to simulate what it would feel and hear like. I absolutely hate my behind-the-ear aids, so I really want an ITC. What do you think? Have you heard of this self-perceived muffled voice problem, and how bad would it be? Thanks! - Sean P.S. I just need another opinion; I won't rat you out to my audiologist :-)

Maybe I missed it. You said it's 30% better than opn s1 in background. An 25% than previous generation for noise reduction. Do you mean for the opn s1 or more? It's really good Oticon or an other brands are improving hearing aids so quickly. I personally have opn s1 and a android user. Other than the addition of iphone and Android compatibility on which ever brand people may choose. They all seem to say various increase percentage in background noise. Just a observation on my part that I find somewhat annoying. I'm sure there is good improvement. But even my opn s1 are supposed to be 15% better than previous model. I really enjoy your videos. Very informative. Maybe in a year or so I'll get a new set of aids. Please keep up the great detailed videos. Sorry for the bit of complaining.
