In this series of three videos, I will show you how I turned this old Otis panel into a fully working simulator! There was a LOT to do with this as it required fixing things on the panel, wiring the basic parts of the panel, designing a custom microcontroller, programming, etc.
This video shows an overview of the panel: What's inside, how things work, etc. Then, I get into fixing some of the elements in the panel. The analog clock was broken, so I had to fix that. Finally, I do some basic wiring to get the clock and other things working!

Cool project! Projects like this always take WAY over the time that's predicted...! ;)

Thanks! This one took a LOT of time to finish. Had to buy a lot of parts for it, spend the time working out the bugs in my programs, and fix those strange issues that take hours in itself to solve.

Pretty nice find, nice restore. The Starks building had Autotronic Elevatoring...as the panel actually said. Building just sitting, its future uncertain. As I recall it had more modes of operation on the dial. At the Heyburn building, they feature Ceder Trafficmasters....The lobby panel is inoperative, but super cool. Normal people passed these panels everyday as they went to work, then SOME of us stared at them with amazement...

That annunciator reminds me of the one at Metro Tower in Lubbock, TX which is currently in the process of being converted into apartments. Do you know if they’re going to mod the 1955 Westies at Metro Towers?

I’ve been waiting for this! That is awesome, and every interesting as to how it works! Can’t wait to see part 2! So far you’ve done a fantastic job and I know you did in the other pieces as well! 2:57 was something that sounded so tedious...

Yep! I temporarily did it for my test in this video and permanently in the end when I installed the main power cord.

I like how you reacted after opening up and seeing how much work you have to do on 2:51! lol Anyways, this is a very nice project, although it is a LONG project to work on for you but at least it went well. lol

“When this switch is in the up position, the hall buttons are inoperative on the 10th and 11th floors. (up only)” means that the up buttons (the top one) don’t work or do anything on the 10th and 11th floors when the switch is in the on or up position.
