OTIS Compass Traction Elevators-Parc 55-San Francisco, CA

This video is a great example of why you should always know the highest floor in a building with a destination dispatch system before you film. This building is actually 30 floors! DARN. These used to be OTIS Elevonic 401 Elevators. This is only my second destination dispatch elevator system, and it's pretty cool, but definitely not as cool as St. Francis. My plan was to go to Hotel Nikko and film the Mitsubishi elevators, but the entire hotel is closed for renovations!!! GRRRRR! Enjoy the video!

The Hotel Nikko closed within the last 6 months. Hopefully they don't modernize the elevators there. Good point on knowing the top floor in a building with destination dispatch. In Financial District high rise office towers you may come across destination dispatch when you don't expect to, as there are at least 30 or so destination dispatch systems in San Francisco total, possibly more.

upanddownadventures San Francisco is becoming destination dispatch heaven. And sucks the Hotel Nikko is shut. If they do get modded, well thankfully I went there before it happened....

I don't know how many of those destination dispatch elevators are in buildings that are open, but at some point I hope to film some of them.

upanddownadventures San Francisco's high rises along with LAs are mostly easy to film according to Traction151​ If if you ask permission. The security 8s Universal Protection services which is much friendlier to us enthusiasts than Allied Barton. Almost every high rise in NYC has Allied Barton security. Also, I hate to say but I feel like San Francisco is having less and less vintage elevators. I've noticed so many have been modded lately.

They are only renovating the lobby. I doubt the elevators will be modernized. If so, they would most likely be modernized by Mitsubishi, which wouldn't be too bad.

Otis compass wheelchair mode has lots of flaws. Like if the person wanting to ride is blind it does not give them any options like other DD elevators it is kind of weird. you would still have to type in your floor. It should read out what floors you want to go to and you press the wheelchair button to select
