You would have loved the lifts that used to be there. 15 years ago that T.K.Maxx used to be George Henry Lee’s (the old John Lewis). And where those Otis gen 2 lifts are now there used to be 4 big lifts, they went from the basement all the way up to the 4th floor. They had bigger doors and the doors had little rectangular windows in them. If I remember correctly, the lifts were old Otis lifts that got modernised by a mix of Otis and generic parts. Inside the lift cabs above the doors there was white light up squares with information telling you what was on every floor. Which as you know John Lewis does in the lifts in some stores. There was a 5th lift on the end but that was a staff only goods lift. Gated door on it. I wish there were sufficient pictures or videos of them on the internet, but they were last in service in 2008. Back then KZbin was still newish and not as popular as it is now. So it’s to be expected I suppose. Great video though, you captured everything really well!!

@@EEverything360 No problem at all! The history of the building is very interesting too. There were also more lifts than the ones I described too. The building was previously linked to the other old building next door to it on Basnett Street. The two buildings used to be linked when it was John Lewis. So John Lewis spread across the 2 buildings and you could walk between them. The lifts in the other buildings are actually all still there!! But sadly they aren’t currently being used. There’s 5 lifts in the other building. One is a Kone ecodisc from 2001, two of them are refurbished Otis lifts with small glass rectangular windows in them that were modernised with a mix of Otis and generic parts and logic. Those 2 lifts were really cool because every time you went past a floor in the lift, it would ding. Every single time it went past a floor. Even if it went past without stopping, they would still ding. Then there’s 2 old Otis lifts in there from either the late 1960’s or early 1970’s. Mostly original. Also with small rectangular windows in the doors. They did add additional buttons and logic which is generic. However, all of the original buttons inside the lift cabs are still there and did still work when the lifts were being used. Sadly the call buttons on every landing were replaced with generic logic though. Still very impressive lifts though as they’re still mostly original. Those 2 specific old Otis lifts though were actually quite quirky. Each of those 2 lifts have 2 landing floor indicators each. One simple indicator on a metal plate but also a really call huge light up triangular box indicator above them. When they were in use I think they were undoubtedly the most interesting lifts in Liverpool. I don’t know if you’re still in Liverpool filming lifts or if you just went over and recorded all of the videos already. But if you go into the Poundland store in the building next door, you can still see one of these 2 old Otis lifts. It’s sadly no longer working and is also sadly now a staff only lift, but you can still see it on the shop floor in that Poundland store. Still with the quirky huge triangular indicator above it too. There is actually one video on KZbin of these lifts. Just search up lifts at Rapid Liverpool. There’s also a video of the 2 refurbished lifts as well. It says lifts at rapid Liverpool because the other building I’m talking about was occupied by Rapid. The building was split back into 2 buildings again after John Lewis moved out in 2008. One of them becoming TK Maxx in 2011 which you went to. The other becoming Rapid in 2011 Which is only occupied by Poundland now.

@@NostalgiaFromMyChildhoodI was only in Liverpool for the day but next time I'm there I'll make sure to look in Poundland for those lifts! Also thanks for telling me about the videos, I have no idea how I haven't watched them yet
