Service elevators like that will often use telescopic doors instead of center opening ones of most public/passenger elevators just to tell the difference. And good thing it's metal all around, especially for handling carts for housekeeping supplies and to reduce maintenance costs on the cab. And for employees to leave a mess like that in the elevator can get them called on the carpet easily, plus that it can make other people trip over them and fall down letalone get hurt.
